I have been considering cutting my rock fig in order to encourage a more squat/fat caudex. Maybe cut it right above the second bulge if I do? Any thoughts on this? Also, if I do cut it, could the top portion be water propagated?
This is just my opinion, and not advice, but why mess with success? Mine is roughly the same height but the trunk isn’t that thick.

No, that’s not a good idea. It’s going to make the caudex bigger, but you’re going to have a lot of branches that will go in all directions… If you ever decide to prune it anyway, the cut part can be cut off, but on the other hand it will not have a caudex.

Ive listens to a few great growers. Pinch the tips where the leaves are developing especially with this plant
