This is coming through from the neighbours side, the stem is covered in thorns.

    It looks like a raspberry/blackberry.

  2. Objective_Ad_5779

    Yeah scanning app says raspberry.

Could be native raspberry or a sucker from a normal raspberry. If you don’t like it snip it off but they are almost as bad as kikuyu runners at getting under fences and garden edging. Maybe have a word with your neighbour if it gets worse, they should put a better barrier on their side.

Don’t spray it, you don’t want to make your neighbours raspberries die or neighbour sick.

    Congrats. You have raspberries.

Commiserations. You will now always have raspberries

    Postcode/location is always helpful.

It is a dead ringer for my raspberries in SEQ and I have never seen blackberries here due to the heat, I suspect.

    Have you asked the neighbor?

Thanks everyone i thought raspberries but I was really hoping I was wrong. I have tried to speak to this neighbour several times as this isn’t the only plant that has made its way into my yard.

My first thought was Raspberry and it seems others think the same.

Raspberry. Feed and water it for some delicious fruit. Not sure if it bears on this year’s canes or last year’s

I bought some raspberry jam from a lady once who told me that her back yard was entirely taken over by raspberries and wasn’t safe to go into for most people. I would get rid of this asap

Could be a raspberry, could be a blackberry. Either way if you don’t want it kill it now or you will have a backyard in your raspberry bush instead of the other way around. If you do want it, tightly control it or… you get the idea.

Poison while you can but tell your neighbours you are doing it so they know.

    Bramble of some ilk.

Basically if you don’t poison it and pull it up root and stem every time it appears for about 3 years it will always come back.

  14. Between fence and retaining wall! Bleh.
If you can control it, it would be cool to get some raspberries.
