I live in the NW of Tasmania and this plant has recently appeared growing in my lawn, the must be about 10 of them at this point. My partner won't let me mow them over and wants to build a garden around them. Sure the flowers are pretty and as a plant it isn't unattractive. A weed is any plant growing where you don't want it, but I would like to understand the plant before deciding what to do with it.

Lychnis coronaria, rose campion. Its a good cottage garden plant. If you want to keep it, but not in that location, it grows easily from seed and the seed is easy to collect.
