Sorry in advance because I am sure you get this question a million times.
I just bought my first air plant a week ago (T. ionantha) and have noticed that it is appearing more yellow than it did before. I compared to to a photo I took right when I got it and it appears that it is the red pigment that is fading and makes it appear yellow. Why could this be, from the research I have done when they get build up the pigments in their foliage it indicates that it is preparing to flower. Does it look okay?
I also would like to know how often to water it.
Thanks so much!

She is preparing to flower and pup as her red ‘blushing’ shows. The blushing does does fade back a bit and change as time goes on. But give her as much sunlight as possible and fertilize now too as she’s using more energy.
Once it does bloom, try to keep the flower(s) as dry as possible so it will last longer. I use an air plant food spray from The Air Plant Shop I found on amazon and it works well for me. Spray once a month so it’s super easy.
