The initiative, which raises vital funds for the hospice, involves volunteers collecting and recycling real Christmas trees from January 7 to 11 across Stevenage, North Herts and surrounding areas, in exchange for donations.

Residents in postcodes SG1–9, SG15–18 and AL6 can book their collections by noon on Sunday, January 4.

Funds raised will contribute to the hospice’s crucial services.

The charity said: “The hospice needs support from the community this year more than ever. With funding levels at crisis point, Garden House need to raise as much as possible through fundraisers like this to ensure they can continue to support those in need of their care.”

The hospice suggests donations from £12 to £102.

Adam Brockett, product and events development lead at Garden House Hospice Care, said: “Christmas Treecycling has always been very successful and we’re thrilled to be able to run the service again in 2026 – hopefully bigger and better.

“As well as helping to fund the hospice’s vital services, supporters can also feel good knowing that they are disposing of their real Christmas trees in an eco-friendly way.”
