How do I make this berm more appealing?

Are the trees planted on top of the berm or was the berm made after the trees were planted. In other words, is the dirt and mulch pilled up against the basal part of the tree?

You could add some deciduous shrubs or grasses and a mix of perennials. This won’t break the bank.
Personally, I like adding some stuff that gives winter interest, but it’s up to you. Just don’t go crazy because you don’t have that much space on that burn.

I am a tree person not a landscaper; if it were me, I would put some type of retaining wall in the front to decrease the grade so what ever you do in that space stays in place. Just sayin!

I would add some shrubs and perennials. Their roots will prevent erosion and they will fill the space so you have fewer weeds.

What kind of fence is that up against?

That’s not really a berm, just a mound with some trees that can eventually flop over. Did you use the pvc fence as a retaining wall of sorts?

Ground cover like St. John’s wort or creeping thyme. Don’t have to mow it and it’s pretty
