There’s not much that beats going to a garden centre at Christmas time… right?
From Santa’s Grotto visits to looking at all those festive decorations, you can’t help but feel cosy, warm and merry.
Thankfully, Hertfordshire has plenty of great garden centres to browse this December, including the likes of Carpenders Park and Dutch Market Place.

Tring Garden Centre

Tring Garden Centre is part of the British Garden Centres group and has a large plant area and a modern restaurant.
Offering a wide selection of plants, tools, gifts, home décor and more, the garden centre also offers views of the Chiltern Hills.
For Christmas, Tring Garden Centre is hosting a range of Christmas activities, including breakfast with Santa, Afternoon Tea with Santa, Paws & Claus Breakfast and festive afternoon tea.
Aylett Nurseries

Aylett Nurseries is one of the leading garden centres in the south east of England that prides itself on offering everything you need for a perfect garden.
The garden centre has a wide range of traditional and modern decorations, trees, wreaths, garlands, tableware and more for Christmas.
Plus, you can also see the Lemax Miniature Village Display that is packed with charm and surprises.

Van Hage Garden Centre

Throughout the festive period, Van Hage Garden Centre is hosting a range of Christmas events, including Santa’s Grotto, Santa Paws and Christmas Afternoon Tea.
Santa’s Grotto lets you share your Christmas wishes before visiting the Toy Workshop and exploring Mrs Christmas’ Kitchen for some treats.
Carpenders Park Garden Centre
Location: Carpenders Park, Little Oxhey Ln, Watford WD19 5BA
Carpenders Park Garden Centre offers everything you could need for a perfect garden and gift ideas.
At Christmas, the garden centre is hosting Santa’s Grotto where children can meet Father Christmas, share their Christmas wishes, take a photo and enjoy a special moment.
Tickets for the Grotto cost £14 for one adult and one child, with all proceeds going directly to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Charity.

The Dutch Marketplace garden centre is an independent family business that was set up in 1957.
Throughout the year, the centre hosts a range of events, including Christmas with its Wreath Workshop, Christmas Lunch, Festive Afternoon Tea and Breakfast with Santa.
