This video follows the transformation of a steep hillside garden surrounded by tall gum trees and sweeping views, where an old, dry lawn is replaced with a hand-laid red brick paved area and custom-built raised veggie beds. Using salvaged Old Reds and working solo through intense summer heat, this peaceful time-lapse captures the full processโfrom reshaping the slope and setting brick in mortar to building a productive, grounded garden space. For those who enjoy thoughtful landscape construction, reclaimed materials, and the quiet rhythm of a garden coming to life, this project offers both inspiration and calm.

So good!
Hi, looks well executed and professionally done. what mortar mix did you use?
Amazing work!
What do you use to point/grout the brickwork? Is it just cement, or something more specialized?
Hi,fellow landscaper here and really impressed with your work, its very "appropriate" as regards the choice of material and methods, finished result looks great!Funnily enough I've just started a large brick drive re pointing job in Sussex and watching your method has meant I've decided to do it that way rather than the usual crumbly semi dry mix, push it in and strike method I use on patio's (tend to steer clear of Porcelain). anyway, great work! ๐

Stunning work. How long did this take you from start to finish?
Also, how does one go about learning how to landscape/hardscape professionally?
I have some brick pavers that need to be relaid in sections as they have moved. Any tips for matching the grout colour?
Very nice work! Is there any concern with using mortar on the crushed rock? For instance will it suck water from mortar too quickly while setting?
Could you do a tutorial on the grouting phase please?
Beautiful
