Our front yard is covered with trees so it doesn't get much direct sunlight, and the ground is really rocky. Am I able to grow any grass here or am I stuck with a rocky, dirt yard? If it's possible to grow something here, any tips or advice on what, when, & how would be greatly appreciated!

Bonus Advice Request: There is a fairly steep, grassy hill in the back yard that is difficult to maintain, so I've been considering planting some wild flowers there so we don't have to continue mowing it. Any tips, advice, flower recommendations, etc. would also be greatly appreciated!

You could try tilling it and watering it, loosening the soil. It looks like it’s getting good sun here..try a small patch of the area first before doing the whole yard too…see what works!

I’m not an expert but I have a front yard that’s kind of like this.

I spread topsoil on it and seeded with shade tolerant clover. It worked pretty well this season. I’ll reseed again in spring.

It did need lots of watering.

I’m not an expert but from what I’ve read online, the first step would be taking out the debris/rocks. Anything is possible after that.
