These were purchased assuming to be fake flowers. Cat was eating some. 30 minutes later he had an episode of great anxiety. He was having trouble walking or moving for 60-120 seconds though he did move up a few stairs and perhaps 10 ft during this episode.

It seemed to be effecting back legs more than front legs but im not sure. Initial diagnosis was FATE (Saddle Thrombus) from a partial blood clot that quickly passed. Emergency vet was unable to find any conclusive markers and I have a follow up with an animal cardiologist in 5 days to get an echocardiogram.

But upon further investigation on the arrangements it seems like everything is fake besides the small red bulbs, which seem to be dried real flowers as they contain seeds. Pictures attached.

From googling I'm wondering/hoping if this could be Heavenly Bamboo or some other flower that causes Ataxia, Tremors, Weakness as opposed to a heart condition with poor outcomes.

Any help identifying the bulbs is appreciated.

    ## **Please do not eat or use any plant because of information received in this subreddit.**
While we strive to provide accurate information here, the only way to be sure enough of a plant identification is to take the plant to a qualified professional. Many plants can be harmful or even fatal to eat, so please do not eat a plant based on an identification made (or any other information provided) in this subreddit.

This is no time to be on reddit asking, this is an emergency vet hospital with pictures of those plants. Your cat could be in serious danger of death or nerve damage.

Edit: I hope for a speedy recovery and apologize I did not check OPs post history before commenting.

That’s a really rough ID, without leaves or an open flower, no location of origin, and they’re dyed red to boot… I would suggest looking up the arraignment from the retailer if you can.

Have you tried the Poisons Help; Emergency identification for Mushrooms and Plants group on Facebook? I know the name sounds silly, but they’re a very serious and competent group with vetted identification folks always available. Vets and human emergency rooms often recommend them.
