Aberglasney Gardens has announced the launch of a new, smooth, aromatic gin that will take the spotlight at its Winter Fair event this weekend.

The Welsh garden has teamed up with the Gower Gin Company to create their own unique Aberglasney ‘Gaeaf’ gin.

The exclusive brew captures the essence of winter with aromatic rosemary, thyme, majoram, and other botanicals found within the garden premises.

For added warmth, the brew is complemented by fennel, pine tips, and rosehips that contribute a hint of crisp woodland freshness and a bright fruity finish.

Helen Scutt, Aberglasney Gardens’ director, who came up with the idea to have an unique gin using ingredients from the gardens, said: “When I met Andrew and Sian from the Gower Gin Company at a recent event held at the gardens I floated the idea of a collaboration to create an Aberglasney Gin and I was absolutely delighted when they agreed to work with us on this exciting project.

“We have foraged for the ingredients together around the gardens and worked on a tester which the trustees and staff have tasted to make sure it is perfect!

“We are delighted to be able to launch the new gin at the Winter Fair in December and offer our visitors a treat in tasting the gin.”

The Aberglasney ‘Gaeaf’ gin, named after the Welsh word for winter, will be available for purchase at the Winter Fair in both 70cl and 20cl bottles.

This will be the first of four seasonal gins launched by the garden.

Visitors to the Winter Fair will not only have the opportunity to taste the new festive spirit, but also see it for sale in the garden’s gift shop.

The Winter Fair will take place on December 5, 6 and 7, from 10am to 4.30pm each day.

As well as access to the many stalls, visitors will be treated to a free glass of mulled wine and a warm mince pie.

Entrance will be £10 per adult, although entrance for Aberglasney members is free, as well as for children under 17.
