The Walled Gardens at Croome Court, within the National Trust’s Croome near Worcester but a distinct venture in its own right, have won the Best Privately Owned Garden Attraction 2025.
Chris and Karen Cronin have restored one of Europe’s largest Georgian walled gardens from ruin to a thriving historic space, adding something else to enjoy beyond Capability Brown’s famous landscapes on the estate.
The walled gardens have been lovingly restored over the past 25 years, work beginning in 2000.
They are open to visitors every weekend and bank holiday from April to September, accessed via the National Trust Croome visitor centre (usual NT admission applies).
There is a separate entrance fee to the gardens which helps fund their continued restoration and future sustainability.
Chris and Karen Cronin wrote on the Walled Gardens Facebook page: “We are absolutely thrilled to share that The Walled Gardens at Croome Court has been named Best Privately Owned Garden Attraction 2025 – UK in the Corporate Vision Small Business Awards.
“Restoring these historic Georgian gardens has been a true labour of love for us over the past 25 years, and this award is such a wonderful recognition of all the hard work, dedication, and passion that has gone into bringing them back to life.”
The Corporate Vision Magazine awards announced on November 28 the 2025 winners of this year’s Small Business Awards.
For a decade, Corporate Vision’s Small Business Awards have been recognising and applauding small companies across the corporate landscape. Across a variety of industries, these award-winning enterprises are improving the way we see the business landscape around the world.
Awards coordinator Melissa Bramall said: “Small businesses are integral to our societies, especially as they utilise their close-knit teams to stay close to the ground on industry developments while delivering premium services to customers with a family feel, unique touch, and deeply personal approach.
“It has been a wonderful experience to award the small businesses in our programme, and I’m sure that the end of the year – and 2026 – will bring more success for them.”
