My roommate bought a packet of seeds and says this isn't a marigold. (Please forgive her poor gardening practices) Is she right?

    This is 100% a marigold. You can tell by the flower and the leaves. Seeds were probably mislabeled.

    looks like a marigold to me…. flower, leaves and bud are all similar to the marigolds i just grew

    TO CLARIFY: I was in a bit of a rush when I wrote that, the packet was labeled marigold seeds 😅 She thought it was an interloper

    Foliage sure looks like every marigold I’ve ever grown. It’s just a thinner flower than we usually see. What does she think it is?

    Was she maybe expecting pot marigolds/calendula? Gotta love confusing common names, but that’s a very standard marigold she’s got there lol
