My husband gifted me this guy two days ago, today I went to check on it and I realized a ton of the stems have already been chewed off. I usually just have hanging plants due to problems with my cat completely destroying my plants no matter where they are placed. I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to keep her away from it (no more hanging spots, I live in a basement suit), and if my plant will recover from this abomination?! I’m pretty positive she didn’t eat any of the pieces as they are all over the place, but will keep an eye on her.

It’s a sad truth but you seriously just cannot have cats and plants at the same time, at the very least not plants that are chewable or in anything but a cat-proof setup
Your aloe vera will definitely recover in due time assuming no furry friend is going hunting for aloe tips again
Bitter apple spray is worth a shot, but I know at least one cat who loved eating plants enough he just learned to be ok with the taste of it
my cat literally treats my plants like her personal salad bar. i’ve started using diluted lemon juice spray on the leaves and it helps – they hate the citrus smell!
Even inedible plants aren’t safe. Mine just keep knocking my poor orchids over, the leaves are very bent and snapped in some places lmao.
I have my plants in one room with plenty or light and an open window where my cat can not enter.
I didn’t really have much of a problem with him eating my plants, but he did drop and break a lot of pots and ended up damaging some of my plants because of that.
Also like Jackson Galaxy says… For every no give him a yes… So maybe a couple of catnip plants around the house will help cause they’re more attracted to those.
Time to grow a bit of wheatgrass lol or catnip. There are specific planters for cats but it can grow in water and a bowl with minimal light less the better tbh for their digestive system.
Oh man I hate to say it but I laughed so hard. Your cat loves a crunchy juicy snack I guess 🤣I saw you said you can’t hang them, what about taller shelving? You gotta get them up and out of cat reach. Someone else mentioned catnip or cat grass, I agree with that suggestion. My cat grass grew so beautifully and easily even though my cat was severely uninterested.
