I can’t believe I am writing this, but we at Birddog Flower Farm are open for business for heat pack shipping this week. We are only open till December 7 for you to order tubers to ship the week of December 7. Why did we only open for a couple weeks? Several reasons:
-We want to keep out tubers in their storage room and reduce the number of times the bins are pulled out
-There are only limited varieties available, these are the ones that had amazing eyes when they came out in the fall, this means we are less likely to ship a blind tuber, and shopping so soon after digging and dividing means we can check for eyes when we ship
-Taxes – this way. All orders in 2025 are fulfilled in 2025 and my tax guy is happy to not have to file a deferred income form!
More varieties will be available in January for shipping in the spring. If you have any questions please send us a DM. See you all in the field!

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:
When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!
*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).
If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.
If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.
