I created this living wall and put my plants under these 3 32w Sansi grow lights. My plants are not reacting well. Variables are that I added another neon pothos to the back of my fuller one and I repotted my philodendron michans. They were not in any grow lights with the original pic. I added the grow light because I didn’t want them to fade away because they were in more light before I put them on the wall. The lights are about 2.5 feet away and are on for 12hrs a day . The neon gets 1000fcs, and the Hoya gets 1000. The philodendrons get 400-700. The pothos gets 400 and the adansonii gets 700.
Why are they drooping now? 😕. I’ll take any suggestions.

    I… can’t see anything wrong? That’s a stunning setup!!

It all looks healthy to me. Is there something you can show us closer up that’s “wrong” with the plants? Possible pest?

I don’t see an issue? If you just moved the plants, they might need a little adjustment time?

I also don’t see anything wrong in these photos. Maybe the leaves are just reorienting to the new light source? Now the light is strongly directional, so the leaves are also aligned to catch the light. Are the stems firm, or are they soft and mushy? If they are firm, I think your plants are fine and just adapting to the new lighting.

I do see some slight droop but i would probably leave it for a week, maybe its acclimating and also check if its thirsty, plants droop when thirsty
I wouldnt worry about it too much for now, if it continues to droop or even yellow its def something more serious

Maybe cut back on the lighting time? Instead of 12 hours, maybe 8?

Initially they had to reach much further for the light, now their ‘faces’ (aka flat sides of the leaves) have to do a lot less work for that and have adjusted their position. Keep an eye on leaf color and the kind of drooping you see from underwatering, if the only difference is leaf angle you should be fine! They look great.

Just a thought, but are the lights positioned differently at all? Are the leaves just showing movement to maximize exposure to the light?

Or do they actually feel droopy and limp as well?

The lights may be too close, or maybe they’re on for too long. Plants don’t like change, but they’ll adapt so long as you take baby steps.

Also what grow light do you use it’s so pretty

Hear from the lights or too much water?

I see the difference you are talking about and I get it, I’d be a bit concerned too. They are definitely drooping, and that’s generally a sign that they are unhappy in some way. It’s definitely not because they don’t need to reach for light anymore, plants become limp like this when something is wrong.

But, it could just be because they are a bit shocked from the light difference and will acclimate in time. How long have they been in this new setup? If it were me, I’d wait and see if they start to perk up in the next week or so. Often times plants just need time to adjust before they get happy again.

They are thirsty man. It’s winter where I am and the heaters on at all times dries everything out much more quickly.

Very jealous of this set up! I think it looks great. But the slight dropping may just be the plants adjusting to the different angle of your grow lights compared to the sun they got before

I think it looks great. But I think all plants like this benefit from trims. Even if you want them large, you want to keep the plant full. So it’s always finding a nice happy balance. Plus you get the benefit of starting a few more plants 😆

How much heat are the bulbs putting out? Is that corner of the ceiling getting really warm for 12 hours a day?

What is the temp difference or draft, air flow? Is a heater or ac blowing on them? I can’t tell, but the grow lights might be too much for them, and they def want a little less on the hours. They’re prob just being fussy about being moved and will bounce back after some loss. If individual leaves start yellowing, the plant is just reclaiming the nutrients to drop it. Doesn’t mean it is all dying. You want to watch the new growth behavior. Good luck, super pretty!
