This is 6 months old tomorrow and they are still going strong, the most I’ve seen at one given time is 12 I think they’re must be about 20 in total. Why aren’t they dying ?

    Aquatic isopods.

They eat dead stuff and biofilm, and some species like asellus aquaticus are quite tolerant of polluted water and lower oxygen levels.

At least one in the video appears to have enlarged yellow marsupium – which means it will release babies soon.

I have had isopods in my aquarium. Im pretty sure they are unkillable lol

Once they’re adapted and they have plenty to eat, they’re pretty tough.

They’re super tolerant of poor water quality and low oxygen, they’ll probably be the last thing alive in there!

  5. The isopod: “the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated”.
