COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – New traffic impacts are expected in Colorado Springs as crews continue a construction project on Garden of the Gods Road.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Ellston Street will remain closed for construction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The northbound right lane on I-25 between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road will close on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
There will be double-lane closures on northbound I-25 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., during which traffic will be reduced to one lane.
CDOT said all lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.
A vehicle detour will be in effect during the closure: north on Chestnut Street, right onto Garden of the Gods Road, right onto Sinton Road.
The speed limit on I-25 is reduced to 55 mph from Mile Point 144 to Mile Point 146.
Transportation officials anticipate this project to be complete in August 2026.
