This residential project in Tolland, CT shows how forestry mulching can open up new space and improve access in an existing backyard. The homeowner wanted to expand their lawn to give the kids more room to play and create a clear path to the creek behind the property.

Using a Kubota KX040 excavator paired with an Indeco IMH4 forestry mulcher, we cleared years of vines, thorns, and brush to make the area usable again — all in a single day. Captured in a time lapse, this video highlights the power, precision, and efficiency of modern forestry mulching for residential spaces.

Whether you’re improving a property, creating family space, or just enjoy watching real work get done, this project shows what careful, controlled mulching can achieve.

[Music] [Music] All right, good morning. We’re on another forestry mulching job. Today’s task is expanding this lawn just a little bit. We’re going to work our way from back in this corner over here through all this and get all this bramble up here. There is a creek down there. We’re going to work our way all the way to it. Looks like a little pest. That spot right there. We’re going to take down all these brambles, get this all cleared up so that this homeowner can expand their lawn, make more play space for their kids. Should be getting all the way through all this stuff and taking these trees down, too. All right, it’s going to be a good day. Let’s get to work. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Oo. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Come on. Come on. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] All right, we’re all done for the day. I think my customer is super happy. So, that edge over there ended up being a rocky drop off. So, we stopped over there, pushed all the way back into the forest over there so they can get better access to the creek and pushed all of this really thick mulch off into a burm at the edge. Their request. Now, this is uh pretty close to be ready for grass seed. Not too many surprises. Came out pretty good. All right, now on to the next job.

  1. Not to be that guy, but – didn't the kids already have lots of room to play? Those looked like raspberry bushes, but maybe they weren't producing. It is too late to seed this year, but maybe that will reduce the prep time for the Spring. That is a nice piece of property, backed up to the woods and the creek.

  2. That was a quick 10 min… Turned out beautiful… Thx for bringing us along… Take care my friend and God Bless….

  3. I just found you and subscribed recently and I’m really enjoying your videos. Sometimes you have music and sometimes you don’t. I prefer no music as I love hearing all the crunching. PS: I’m watching from Ottawa, Canada.
