I just recently moved and this is the first time I had to take care of a place with an irrigation system. I was just informed I need to winterize my system and have no idea what I’m looking at here. I have a 3 zone system. I have shut off the water line to the system and now wanting to bleed the water out. I unscrewed the weep screws and loosened the solenoids but I didn’t see water come out. Do I need to run compressed air through the weep hole? Completely lost. Also I see 4 lines when I have a 3 channel system. What is the 3rd line.

At work we tap upstream of the manifold and use compressed air to blow through each of the lines one at a time.

At home I winterize my pool by blowing air through the pipes that move water around with an air blower.

There must be some sort of control module or timer that controls the valves. And yes if you get winter that drops temps bellow freezing you will want to blow out the lines.

Before messing with that, do you know where your control box is? Mine is in my garage and has instructions inside of the panel when you open it.
