Come spring time, I'd like to build a decorative island in my front yard. I'm looking for a tree recommendation that will go well in this area. My primary objectives are to add some visual appeal to the front yard and to block the view of telephone pole and wire from within the house. Something with year round color/evergreen or visual interest would be nice. It also can't have a mature height over 20 feet to avoid growing into the power line. I am in climate zone 6.
Currently I have Tamukeyama Japanese maple in the spot, but it probably won't ever get big enough for the task. Would be interested in some suggestions of what might work best in the spot.

Keep the Tamukeyama, add a Serviceberry behind it. 15-20ft, white spring flowers, fall color, interesting winter bark. Native, tough, checks all your boxes.
Or go with something evergreen with **Emerald Green Arborvitae** if you want full year round screening of that pole. But you should be aware of the maintenance arborvitae need so they wont die.
native oak, small cluster of them
Forsythia. I know it’s not a tree but will grow large and hide the pole. Also, mock orange and spirea.
Tribcolor beech, ivory silk lilac, cornelian cherry dogwood, service berry, pagoda dogwood. Gl
Im a fan of dwarf flowering crabapples.
Priare Fire is a favorite, leaves change color from green to bronze, hot red flowers and small fruits that hold over adding color and interest. They also feed winter birds.
Weeping willow tree
Columnar oak or hybrid of some sort. And a yew hedge.
