I have an ecosphere that I planted about 2 years ago. It has been closed since and the plants have grown like crazy. I haven't checked it out much, but this morning I noticed lots of these white dots on the walls. Can this be mold colonies?

I have not seen this before, but here are some thoughts.
Considering you live in an area where winter is coming. Aquatic plants feel the seasons too and in outside ponds for example, they all die down but most leave seeds to come back in spring.
Could that be possible? What kind of plants do u have in there?
Another thought could eggs. Do you have any ostracods in there? Any other critters?
