Well, this sucks. I was trying to hang a new plant my bf got me and it fell KILLING my philodendron here- Gemini. 🙁 I’m hoping he grows back or I can make cuttings.

Something like this certainly won’t kill an aroid. You just have two plants now.

Just root the top part and replant it in a new pot. Keep the bottom half and continue caring for it as usual, and it’ll eventually put out a new stem.

Yeah, absolutely not dead. I would use rooting gel and probably put it into water until it grows roots. You could also use place it directly into soil (I never have great luck that way). Either way, congrats on the second plant. It is a white knight or a white wizard? I can never remember which is which.

Dont panic! Make sure the break is clean, maybe cut break spot @ 45 degree angle and toss er into water!

    Now you have 2 🥰

Edit: all those little brown pokeys have the potential to root, thats what these guys use to climb

Cut it into more pieces and have more plants

Perfect time to propagate and make a bushier philo

This plant is not dead. You can root the portion in your hand… you could have 3 new plants out of that and the one in the pot still will recover and keep growing.

Now you have two plants! Just propagate the part that broke off and the leave the one with the root system alone.

Not a bad result bc now you can have multiple plants! They do great as props!

You can just jam the broken off bit into a pot of soil and have a new plant!
