A tiny property has come up for grabs with a whopping price tag – and it resembles a shed you’d find at the end of someone’s garden. The one-bed house, which spans just 506 square foot, has been listed for sale at £225,000.
The pokey pad features a cosy lounge and kitchen space together in one room. It has an oven, a hob, a sink, a washing machine and a refrigerator. There is also a double bedroom which has a bathroom off it. There is also another bed up a very steep, spiral staircase, but the space is so small that you cannot stand up.
The shed-like property is up for sale in the picturesque market town of Wirksworth in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, just north of Derby, which has an average house price of £287,631 according to Rightmove. The majority of properties sold in Wirksworth during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £341,563, however it’s likely that these are much bigger than the property featured.

After coming across the listing, one house hunter joked: “The UK housing market is crazy. Over £220,000 for this. Which is essentially a shed.” It is being sold by Bricks and Mortar estate agents and advertised on Rightmove, as reported on Luxury Property News.
The listing reads: “Stylish detached home with bedroom and additional mezzanine, two off-road parking spaces to the front. Gated garden that can provide two further parking spaces, in the historic part of town beside Providence Mill, close to countryside walks.
“Brand new wood burner, modern living in a stone-built home, easy-maintenance courtyard garden with summer house. Perfect holiday let or ‘lock up and leave’ second home, full-height bedroom windows with external wooden carriage doors.”

The price of the tiny home is a stark contrast to Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, which has been named as the most affordable place to live in Britain. Properties sell there for as little as £33,000 – almost seven times less than the Wirksworth home. The average house price in the UK stands at £298,000.
