COUNTY News:
The Community Services Department (CSD), in partnership with Valley Fence Company, will begin installing a new fence at the Rose Garden as part of ongoing efforts to protect natural resources and enhance the visitor experience.
Construction was scheduled to begin on Nov. 24, 2025, and was expected to be completed by Dec. 9, 2025, weather permitting. The construction is now scheduled to begin on Dec. 1 and run through Dec. 16, weather permitting. During this period, portions of the park may be temporarily inaccessible.
“The installation of this fence is an important investment in the long-term health and safety of the Rose Garden,” Wendy Parker said, Parks Superintendent. “It will help safeguard sensitive areas and ensure a more enjoyable environment for County residents and visitors.”
This project was brought to the Parks and Open Space Division by the Los Alamos Garden Club in an effort to protect the Rose Garden from wildlife in the community. The fence project has been supported by the Historical Preservation Board, Parks and Recreation Board, and funded by the County Council in the FY2026 budget.
