My families agave death bloom is officially taller than the house! It’s a beautiful and unique site to see. Does anyone know about how long this process takes? It’s been about 9-10 weeks since it first began. We look forward to seeing the progress

Oooo I definitely want to see an update
The death process can take a very long time! The bloom typically lasts for several months before it produces seeds. Then the mother plant will wilt and wither and turn brown and die completely. The dried flower stalk could stay standing for up to two years, if nothing knocks it over, but considering how tall it is, you may not want to leave it standing. You wouldn’t want it to damage anything as it falls.
Those flowers will attract all kinds of pollinators! Depending on where you are, you might see birds, bees, butterflies, wasps, moths, hummingbirds, and even bats! Hopefully the mother plant gives you lots of babies to carry on her legacy, either from seed or pups at her base.
