A park at one of the Greater Toronto Area’s gardens is about to transform into a festive winter wonderland, and it will include a new mini-Christmas market.

From Nov. 27 to Jan. 4, Henrie Park at the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) in Burlington will be converted for its Winter Wonder programming with dazzling lights, festive installations, and enchanting displays.

“We’re putting the final touches on our holiday transformation and look forward to welcoming you,” the Royal Botanical Garden states.

And new this year, guests can enjoy interactive art installations by Canadian artists that “invite you to touch, explore and play, adding a hands-on element where you create the magic.”

Three new pieces will be included in the celebration, along with returning visitor favourites from artists across Ontario and beyond.

Along the outdoor walk through the display, the team at the Gardens will also be serving a rotating menu of festive snacks and warm drinks from three different stations.

Still in the midst of Christmas shopping? Winter Wonders will feature an expanded section of craft vendors with a display of handmade gifts in 2025.

There will also be a new Artisan Village that will feel like a mini-Christmas market with offerings from local crafters and artisans.

But it’s not just the outdoors that will be filled with holiday joy, inside the Gardens will also be brimming with festivity.

Seasonal decor and vibrant plant displays will be featured in the Mediterranean Garden and the Breezeway.

“Softly lit and dressed for the holidays, it’s a chance to see a beloved corner of RBG in a whole new light,” according to the Gardens.

A botanical train display will also be showcased where 2,500 plants create the backdrop for seven different lines of a model train track.

“Follow our trains on their journey past scale models of iconic Canadian landmarks constructed entirely from plant materials,” according to the Gardens.

And if you’d like a train experience you can actually ride, hope aboard the RBG Express. Tickets can be purchased at the door upon arrival for $10 per train car for a round-trip journey through Henrie Park.

The train will only run in the daytime during Winter Wonders.

Winter Wonders will run from Thursdays to Sundays from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. with timed entry tickets available online for $26.86.
