Police are searching for a driver after officers shot at a car that was driving straight at them Tuesday in Miami Gardens.
Miami Gardens Police said they were using radar to check for speeding drivers and tried to stop a car.
Officials said the driver sped up, barely passing officers, who had to move out of the way. The driver then headed straight towards another officer, and that officer shot their weapon.
The driver kept going and later ditched the car in a neighborhood less than 5 minutes away on Northwest 151st Street and Railroad Drive.
“I heard helicopters, then I come out and saw a bunch of police cars,” said Maret Escarment, who lives by the yard where police found the car.
