What is going on everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Bear Basic Lawns. I am finally getting back out here. It’s been a minute for me. I apologize for the uh the wait, but uh like I mentioned in my last video, there’s really not much going on for me. The the lawn looks pretty green though for the most part. I mean, doesn’t look too bad, but it’s just kind of dying out though. I don’t know. Can you guys see it in this little patch right here and all of this right here? here. I think it’s just because I’m scalping it a little bit when I mow because it’s it’s still kind of uneven right here from the drip line of the of the uh the rain gutters. So, it’s still kind of just um it might be a little bumpy still and and and that’s probably maybe what I’m catching is is just right up in here. But um for the most part, guys, I mean, there’s really not much going on. I did want to I did want to try and do my budget irrigation system over the weekend, but you know, um had some stuff going on over the weekend and uh didn’t end up getting it done. I did water though um on on Sunday and I was like I did it kind of last minute so I ended up really not doing anything. But for the most part, I I think I’m going to try and do the other side just like how I did here. But I got to thinking I think that I think that I’m going to have to try and get more the I got the I got the length for what I need, but I think that I need to get it dialed in better as far as Oh, there’s a nice ant down here. Look at right by the house. You guys see that? Look at that. Luckily there’s no Luckily there’s no trail though going into the house. I always get kind of nervous when those are so close to the house like that. But luckily I don’t I see one. Oh man. Yeah, actually. Yeah, they’re starting to go up there. Dang it. Might have to get some some raid in the meantime because I don’t I still have no spray guys and that’s probably why they’re popping up. It’s been so dry. They’re probably looking for water. I might have to uh I might have to get my my neighbor Jeff out here just just in the meantime to get me through the winter because uh I really don’t want to buy any spray right now because because in a couple months everything’s going to go away. So I think I might have to just kill this little line real quick and then go from there. But anyways, so but what I’m thinking is I I think I might need more heads. So, I think I want to put I think I want to put this one here. You know what? Let me see here. So, what I’m thinking is, guys, I I think I want to put one in the corner. Right where the camera ends on the side right here is where the fence post is. So, I didn’t really put it to where I want to go, but I want to move this one to the I want to move this I want to move this one to the corner. So, that’ll do kind of like a a 45 degree angle like this to the fence and the house. And I’ll get all this. And then and then maybe another one here. And then maybe, you know, maybe I’m thinking maybe every five to six feet is kind of what I’m thinking because so I have I have one, two, three, four just on this side of the house, right? And what I’m noticing when I do it, like when I especially on Sunday when I did it, there’s there’s too much blast. Okay. What I mean by that is the the the sprinklers are working fine. It’s has nothing to do with the sprinklers, but like for like like take for instance this one, it’s coming up like like if I’m if I’m the I don’t know if you guys can see. I can’t see me, but but if I’m standing up against the wall and the the fence to on here is where the sprinkler is getting blasted. So, I’m not really watering the grass. The remnants coming from the sprinkler head is kind of getting some of the grass but not fully. So I wonder if I get more sprinkler heads, maybe the pressure might go down a little bit. Maybe if I do like seven or eight sprinkler heads, per se, that it might it might uh because what I need to do really is I need to dial it down is I need to dial these down and turn them down. And when I do that from what I have now, it doesn’t really uh get enough coverage. So like, excuse me. So, like if I put this one here and then I put another one here, the way I can dial it down, I can still get the grass, not blast the fence, but get enough coverage to where it’s still overlapping each sprinkler head and getting the grass for what I need because I need the grass. I don’t need the I don’t need the um the fence being blasted. So, I’m thinking that’s what I’m going to do. And luckily, I haven’t done the other side yet. So, I think I’m going to try that. And I think on that side, it’s actually maybe the fence is actually maybe a little bit closer to the house. So, there I really think that I need to do that. And if I do if I do every every I’m going to try every six feet, I think it should cover pretty good for what I need because it’s it’s going to be the same. It’s going to be the same thing over there. If I if I have I have it every 10 feet like how I normally have it right here, it’s just going to blast the sprinkler or I mean it’s going to blast the fence and I need to get the grass. I don’t need to get the fence. I need to get the grass. And out on this side in the front yard, it’s fine because I have so much space to cover and I don’t really care about watering my neighbor’s grass because it’ll help him out and and water his grass, too. I don’t really care about that, but I mainly just don’t want to blast the house. I I I want to get the the grass. So, anyways, so that’s what I’ve kind of been thinking of, guys. Um haven’t really done much. Like I said earlier, haven’t really done much. The grass isn’t really growing in my opinion. But I will get in a quick little moes. Um just because I haven’t done it a minute. So, I want to, you know, I want to try and keep it keep it uh cut a little bit, especially out here. I don’t know if you guys can see that. Looks kind of gray. Looks kind of dark and brown. So, need to get it cut. But it’s just been so dry. I haven’t got any rain. Need to water. I need to get all the above. and and we’re just getting so close to the end of the season that to me it honestly is getting to the point where I don’t really care because coming up here in the next couple couple weeks or so I think even I looked on the 10day that um that the low is supposed to be 50 and then the high is supposed to be 60 69 I want to say for the low. So, we’re getting right there as far as this grass is about to start going dormant, and I need to go get some pre-emergent. I need to start getting getting the prep for that done. Oh, and then also too, the last time I I uh spread the fertilizer, I think it was No, it was a soil conditioner. I spread the soil conditioner. My freaking spreader is not is not moving like it it’s just getting stuck. So, I think I’m going to I think over the weekend I’m going to I need to uh get that going because if I got no spreader, I can’t spread the fert or the uh the uh pre-emergent. So, it’s just like it’s just a constant battle going on right now with with how this lawn is and and the amount of time that I have. You know, can you guys see that? You know, it’s just still looking kind of dead. You know, it’s not really it’s not really green anymore, but the but the weather is just changing. so bad. So, but anyways guys, thank you guys so much for tuning in. Sorry I haven’t been here in a minute. Uh I’m going to get a mo session and uh and this weekend I think I’m going to try and get this was the side that I was talking about on this side. It’s got it’s got no irrigation over here. So, and um I just need to water the grass. I don’t you know, so I think every every five feet I think I’ll go five feet just to be safe. Six feet, you know. I I’d rather be safe than sorry. So, but in the meantime, guys, I’m going to get a mo session. I will catch you guys in the lawn. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. All right, guys. So, that’s going to complete this video for tonight. I I kind of just did this last minute just because I haven’t mowed in a minute and I just wanted to see how it would look after after I don’t know about a week and a half. But it looks like it’s going dormant, guys. I don’t really know what to do with it. Maybe just keep up with the watering until until the temperatures really start to drop. And and and you know, that’s kind of really all I can really think of at the moment. But cuz even cuz even like I was mentioning before that this little strip right here gets really green, right? And uh it looks good. I think that this one and and this piece right here, I mean, you could just tell the difference between this that looks really good and then this that looks like it’s dying already. And I think that might just be because of the height of cut. But, um, I think that I think that is going dormant already because you could tell that it’s starting to go brown a little bit right here. And then you can still kind of see it a little bit getting brown right in here. So, I think it’s starting to go dormant. I don’t know. I’m going to keep a keep a look on it. But, uh, just want to try and get a little mo session, give you guys an update because I haven’t been out here in a minute. And I apologize again. and and uh at this point of our time here with Bermuda grass in in uh southeast Texas, it’s it sorry, it’s finally cooling down and I I can’t get more excited than I am because we need it. It’s even I want to say today is Wednesday. It was like I don’t know uh maybe Saturday. I think it was Saturday. It was like still 92 degrees and I’m like come on, man. And it’s freaking October, middle of October and still 90°, but but it’s finally cooling down. So, got three things, three things, guys, I want to try and do this weekend. Number one, I want to work on that budget irrigation system, like I mentioned. Number two, I need to I need to fix that my uh spreader. I don’t know. I don’t know what the what the dealio is with it, but I I it it I I I I tried to do like a little, you know, like a little uh gallop kind of walk, I guess you could say, to get the last little excess out. And all of a sudden, it just stopped. So, I hope I, you know, maybe just maybe just fix the axle on it, maybe a little bit. I’m not too sure, but I need I need to get that going. Speaking of which, this is a kind of a little a little bonus one. And I need to clean up this. It’s kind of getting out of hand. The the you know the whole border trim of it. It it look it doesn’t really look a natural look. It just kind of looks like a in a little bit. So I need to get that going. And then the third thing is I’ve noticed that on my mower that I’m uh for I think when I said I adjusted the height of cut or I raised the height of cut, it uh throw threw it out of whack a little bit and I was and I was fiddling with it. You know, you guys remember? and it it uh it’s not really working. It it’s it’s cutting. It’s working, but at the same time, it’s it’s kind of just not really doing what it was before I did that. And and because normally I I I lean it up against the wall and and uh it I can I can uh push it with the wheels, the the the main big wheels, and I can’t do that anymore right now, ever since that day. and and it’s not necessarily bugging me, but since I since I’m getting up some free time and and I’m not mowing twice a week like I like I was before. Uh I’m going to try and get that going. So, three things I’m going to try and get done this week weekend. Um and then maybe if I have some time, maybe I’ll get a water session, you know, because I if I do that budget Oh, this natural light looks good. I mean, I’m just kidding. But, uh if uh if I can get if I can get uh couple water sessions in, try and maybe green it up a little bit. I might fertilize. Why not? Screw it. Just send it. Uh it’s still peaking still in the 80s. I think uh I don’t think it’s supposed to be uh done um until uh I want to say the 10day outlook like I was mentioning earlier was was looking pretty nice. So still got some time here in the mid 80s. So I I might fertilize if I can get that spreader back up. I need to get it back up because I need to get that pre-emergent down. Otherwise, I might have to go find somebody with a spreader around here real quick. So, if you’re if you’re listening, I might be seeing you in a second. But, uh, that’s all I got for you today, guys. Thank you always for tuning in. Always like, comment, subscribe, share, ring that bell. I’m always here to provide you guys good content. In the meantime, I’ve been trying to I’ve been kind of talking and and wondering because can’t really tell now, but it’s supposedly I don’t know if you guys have noticed in the news or anything, but there’s supposedly a comet coming. And I’ve been I I tried to look last night. I couldn’t find it. Um, I think it’s just too dark. And I think the angle that I’m at of the house is supposed to be in the northwest, which is which is that way. And I can’t I can’t find it. But, um, it might it might just be be a little bit darker. But, I’m going to finish up. I still got to get this other side done and, uh, blow it off. But, uh, I’ll keep a lookout and and if I notice it, I’ll share it with you guys. But, in the meantime, I’ll catch you guys later. their basic lawns where the green grass grows. East Texas skies and a gentle breeze blow.
