I had a Thanksgiving cactus for years and the thing wouldn't bloom. I tried all the tricks the internet said would make her bloom and still… Nothing. I was giving all the proper care, she looked so healthy, and she just wouldn't do anything but be green. I ended up propping many smaller cuttings last year, in a pot that came with another plant, which I added drainage to, and trashed the original plant. She didn't seem to be growing much, but seemed happy enough, and then I started to see buds. She's small but she bloomed(!!!) and definitely has more coming. I maaaaaay have cried when I saw the first bloom.

So pretty 🌷
Ahhhhhhh the best time of year
I have two Thanksgiving cacti and neither have bloomed or are showing any signs of future production. They were both repotted, placed outside in a shady location, doubled in size, and look healthy. My apartment is set at 67°, 65% humidity, and they are sitting in an east window. One is a year old and one is maybe 15 (?). They have one more year of grace and then Granny turns ruthless.
I did not know the petals were shimmery or is that just the way the light is shining on them?
🩷 so beautiful! Congratulations 😊
