Good day, my plant foldies. This is Richie at Growfolds and today we’ll be big box store plant shopping at the Lowe’s off of Preston Road in Frisco, Texas. As always, please make sure you are pressing the thumbs up or like button for this video, as well as give me a follow on my Instagram page, grow. That is the most fastest way to get in touch with me if you have any questions about the plants or just want to interact with me in general. But as you can see right here, it is a late afternoon um as I go drive up to this Lowe’s location out in Frisco, Texas. I just got off of work and I am really just trying to catch up on doing big box store plant shopping videos. I do miss going into big box stores and going shopping here. And you already know it is the holiday season. So, I’m just really curious to see what plants we may find that are holiday theme, Christmas theme. I am asking the plant foldies if you’ve even started your Christmas um shopping or if you already have your wish list plans to be um part of your Christmas present. So, let me know in the comments section below. But as you can see right here, we are just walking up to this Lowe’s location to see what kind of plants they have. I do want to say thank you to all those that have tuned into my recent videos featuring the Texas Aeroid Show 2025. And I recently did an unboxing video of Greenspaces ID plants. If you haven’t already, please take a gander. Please take a look at those videos on my channel. I even have a Texas Aeroid Show playlist. And take a look at this. Look at these reindeer um fixtures that they have here. Super cool. And I hope that everybody is having a wonderful day so far. Um I hope that everybody is going to have a really good holiday week. I know that Black Friday is coming up as well as Thanksgiving. So, as you can see right here, it is late afternoon, so there is a little bit of light left. And the thing about fall season is um the days are shorter and so we don’t get as much light. So, I am curious to see if everybody has started to overwinterize their plants. But, as you can see right here, plant foldies. Look at this. We’ve already started to get some live Christmas trees. You can see that this Lowe’s location is getting ready to have some live Christmas trees. And quintessential to the holiday season, we can see that we are decorating for the holiday season. These are Costa Farms plants. These are Norfolk pine. And the interesting thing about Norfolk pine is, yes, they look like pine, but they’re really more of a tropical type plant. So, I’m curious to see if anybody actually grows norfolk pine after the holiday season. It kind of reminds me of other seasonal plants such as croone plants in the fall, poinsettas in the Christmas um winter season, and obviously norfolk pine. Let me know in the comment section below. But um I like to start out these plant shopping adventures, these plant shopping videos by going into the Lowe’s garden center where I look at the outdoor garden plants. Have no fear if you are actually into the um indoor tropical plants. We will go into the um tropical section um in just a bit, so have no fear on that. But let’s go ahead and take a look at all of these gorgeous plants right over here. So, Cycl Min actually come out during the fall winter season. This one is by Monrova Plants for $7.98. And I really like the look of the actual leaves more so than the blooms. Now, with cyclamine, you can actually see them often um throughout the season, but you will see most of them come out during the colder months of the year. And then you can see we’ve got some more of these blooming flowers um as far as patio type plants. Obviously, they’re going to be annual plants for the winter. And then you can see right over here, plant foldies. Um you can see that they’ve got some more hanging baskets of plants. And you know, as far as a fall um early winter um patio garden, let me know in the comments section what plants you’re growing. But as you can see right here, $24.98 and you can have yourself a norolk pine. I’ve tried to grow Norfolk pine, but for some reason they just don’t do well for me longterm indoors. And then you can even see right here, crom petra. So some big box stores actually have this as a huge deal. big box stores um actually have these on 50% off. Now, Lowe’s doesn’t have this on sale quite yet, but as the season progresses into winter, um croons become 50% off or even um less than that. I love croons. They remind me of my home country, which is the Philippines, and those grow out in the wild. They just grow outdoors and they live their best life. So, it’s always interesting to see how these plants transition to places like the United States where they are grown mostly for um an annual or decorative purpose. And you can see right over here, look at this pretty bow. Um I would say the holiday seasons is definitely a fun time in the year. Now, for some um sectors of society, the holiday seasons can be a little bit stressful. So, you know, I always tell people, especially since I, you know, go big box or plan shopping, please be kind to those that work in retail over the holiday season. They are the ones that are working the holidays. They are the ones that are trying to take care of all of our shopping needs. So, be patient, be kind, because kindness is free. And especially to the retail workers, shout out to y’all. And I hope that, you know, the holiday season is still a fun time even though it can be a stressful time for people in the retail business. I think sometimes we don’t slow down and think about the person behind the counter or the person that is actually stocking, you know, the items for our Christmas shopping. Um I’ve seen some people get really um just not the um friendliest vibe toward retail um workers and just remember they’re the ones that are putting in the work to make sure that we have a fun-filled holiday season. So please be sure and this is just a friendly public service reminder to be kind to those in retail. Anyways, look at right over here. We have a string of bananas. And I love a string of bananas right over here. Look at how beautiful that is. This one is in a 6-in planter. And you know, as far as string of any type of succulent plants, I’ve tried to grow them in the past, but they just do not do well for me indoors or even outdoors. So, I’ve kind of just given up on them. And you know, that’s the thing about growing plants. And I’ve mentioned this in so many of my videos, but you’ve got to realize sometimes plants do not always work in our environment, in our home, or more so, they don’t always work because of the lifestyles we live. Some of us may live very busy lives. Some of us may not have the best lighting conditions. Some of us may just not have the time to grow plants. So, um, don’t feel like you are not a good plant parent. Just be realistic about the amount of plants that you are growing in your space. And then as you can see right here, plant foldies. I’m going to pan around here and show you all of the so-called living Christmas trees that they have. Um I do want to ask the plant foldies that actually put up Christmas trees, do you prefer the um faux um Christmas trees or live Christmas trees? Please leave that in the comments section below. And you know, for those that actually take the time to leave comments in the comment section, I really do appreciate it. I love that open dialogue. I definitely love that engagement and it actually helps me get to know the plant foldies a little bit better. For those that are new to the channel, I call my viewers and subscribers plant foldies. Welcome to my channel. My name is Richie and I do daily 1-hour plant shopping videos, typically big box store plants, but I also venture out to other plant content. So, I’m going to go ahead and keep picking up some of these um string of bananas. This one is actually in bloom. I didn’t even realize that the blooms for the string of bananas um are actually white. And take a look at this really interesting crusala sunset fantasy. Love the variegation. And these are only for $12.98 by Oasis Plants. And Oasis Plants is the provider of the succulents and cactus that you find at big box store Low. So, let’s go ahead and just keep walking around here and seeing what plants they have in the outdoor garden section. We are about to walk into the indoor garden section and see what plants they have available um in terms of just holiday themed plants. Heat. Heat. to touch base on some of the plant products I like to recommend and use as far as fertilizers and plant supplements. So, you can see right over here we’ve got Osmmaote. Osmmaote is a slowrelease fertilizer that is really good, $15.98. And Osmmaote Plus, um definitely check out their website, Osmo, um on online just to see what the ingredients are. But this is a really good slowrelease fertilizer. And you can see we’ve got Scott Super Bloom. So this is for $24.98. And you can see that the um middle number is what you want. A high middle number on the fertilizer will actually um give you more bloom. So if you have flowering plants, I might even try um giving Scott Super Bloom to my Hoya and even orchids to promote blooms. And then you can see right over here, Miracle Grow fertilizer. Miracle Grow allpurpose fertilizer. We’ve also got some Miracle Grow um um garden feeder. Check out miragalgrow.com if you are interested in just the um the I guess effectiveness of Miracle Grow. They have all of the ingredients there. Some people have their thoughts about Miracle Grow. But I have you been using Miracle Grow as a fertilizer for by indoor and outdoor garden plants for um more than a decade now. And it is a consistent plant fertilizer. It is definitely budget friendly um fertilizer. It is one that you are getting a lot out of your money buying that. Um I do recommend it. Some people may not, but that’s honestly what I use. And then this is really what I buy is the allpurpose plant um food miracle grow fertilizer. That particular brand right there. And now we are about to get ready to walk into the indoor tropical section. But I did want to pan around here and just show you a little bit more of the beautiful um living Christmas trees. During the cold winter months, we have a lot of these um different types of planters. Typically we will see ornamental kale. We will also see ornamental um lettuce and cabbage. So those are really interesting. And then obviously we have some more of these kolas plants. I’ve talked about kolas plants before but they are plants that typically people only grow as an annual plant but you can grow them longterm as an indoor tropical plant. And then over here look at these lush um trcanthas right over here. This is the zabrina form. These are in 8 inch planters for only $19.98. Very easy to propagate. I would say if these um trade scania end up getting a little bit luggy, just chop them back. You can even chop them back all the way down to the base and promote um a lot of new growth. Um these again are only for $19.98. Um people will use them as like a patio plant, but you can actually grow them as an indoor tropical plant as well. Just know you have to provide them with quite a bit of light. And then obviously we have some Boston fern right over here. Not a huge fan of ferns, but you know, for those that like ferns, those are always going to be readily available throughout the um the season. So, I’m going to go ahead and pan around here. And you can see that the sun is slowly, actually, not slowly, it’s quickly um setting. So, we’re going to go ahead and go into the indoor tropical section. But before we go into the indoor tropical section, I did want to go ahead and talk about Indonesia’s living jewel agliona plant foldies. Please do not swipe away or stop watching the video. This is just a quick blurb about an agona book that I helped collaborate with with the team of art garden flowers in Indonesia. It is the first English um language book featuring agalona plant care. It is presented by art garden flowers. My friend Harry of Indo Miami Plants was one of the main authors of this alongside with the Art Garden Flowers team. As you can see right here, this is going to really be a agonea book that I believe everybody should um invest in getting. It’s got over 150 different um species of agliona hybrids from Indonesia. And I know that aglionea are not really popular plants, but I mean take a look at some of these beautiful hybrids right here. These are alglona that you will not see in the United States or at least it’s not commonly found. And I hope that you guys will invest in purchasing the agliona book. Um I also have a feature there with my grandmother so you can kind of see my journey in terms of getting into plants. And this is really part of the campaign to #popularize agliona. Um, you can order these aglona directly um from our garden flowers in Indonesia and they’re able to ship these um aglona directly to your doorstep in the United States because they use a US broker. So, you don’t necessarily have to worry about import um licensing because they take care of all of the um the paperwork for you. Um there is a QR code that you can actually pause this video and actually look at the pricing and what that looks like right over here. Please follow artguarden.flowers on Instagram and all their socials. And I hope you guys will support this future project of um mine and also art garden flowers. I’m super excited to present this to the world or the universe rather for all of our plant lovers. So as you can see right here, plant foldies. We are now at the main event and you already know that we’re going to be just taking a gander and looking at all of these plants. We are in full-fledged holiday season at um Lowe’s location. And here you can see all of the Christmas decorations. Let me know if you’ve already put up your Christmas decorations um as part of your home decor. But as you can see, I’m going to go ahead and just walk around and pan over here and show you all of the holiday Christmas type plants. So you can see right here, we’ve got some Amorillis um bulbs right here. And look at this. Costa Farms has a gift set where you have a Norfolk pine right over here with the actual um Christmas decorations, but we also have one in this little um gift set right here that actually has music that you can play from Spotify. Costa Farms has really nice packaging for this um Norfolk Pine that has Christmas ornaments here. Really love the look at that. And then they also have a QR code that features um you know care tips and how to take care of your norolk pine. So definitely follow um Costaarmms on um Instagram or all of their socials and definitely go to costafarmms.com if you want to do some more shopping for plants. They can deliver you to your doorstep. Um but as you can see right here, look at that. We’ve got some Norfolk pine. And so I’m just going to walk around here and show you some of these holiday themed plants. We’re definitely going to look at the other plants as well, but for now they have a whole fixture, a shipper full of different types of um holiday themed plants ranging from Amorillis plants to Costa Farms plants. And then you can see over here more plants. Um this one also has a live trans design plants alongside with all of those um Christmas um floats that they have in the background. But um as far as um this one right here, I love the fact that Costa Farms actually has these for $15.98. We’ve got our mascot um of this YouTube channel. This is an agliona red cyam. Y’all know I love aglly. I am obsessed with aglly. I think that every single plant lover should have an agma. And you know what? You can roast me for it, but I’m really um passionate about getting um more people to be interested in agloneas. This agliona reds is a beautiful plant and it looks like they have made this into more of a Christmas themed plant. It’s interesting how a lot of these major um nurseries are starting to promote different types of tropical plants for um you know Christmas holiday themed plants. I remember seeing Proven Winners leaf joy plants um promoting red caladiums as a holiday plant and we also have Costa Farms here utilizing agliona reds cyam. It would be very interesting to see if um Costa farms can get even a redder variety of agliona in production for the holiday season such as an agliona red suum where it’s literally red foliage. So love that for um Costa Farms. Please um you know purchase your agliona red si if you haven’t already. And then over here $14.98. We’ve got some beautiful amorillis. And I remember receiving this as a holiday Christmas gift um from a family member. And literally this is one of those plants that you just set it and forget it. You just let it sit in front of a window seal. I had mine um ace facing and it bloomed. And then you can see right over here there is still a little bit of sunlight left. So, we are going to try to capitalize on what little lighting we have here by just walking around and picking up more of these plants. Again, plan foldies, feel free to leave in the comment section what you think of some of these holiday plants. I would also invite you, if you haven’t already, and I ask, why haven’t you pressed the thumbs up or like button for this video? Really, I’m going to go ahead and open that dialogue. Um, we’ve got a lot of people that tune into these videos and it doesn’t take a lot of effort to press the thumbs up or like button for the videos that you see on YouTube. It definitely helps the content creator out. So, if you haven’t already, let’s go ahead press that thumbs up or like button for this video. You already know the ones that are not doing that. Let’s go ahead and do it. That could be like your holiday Christmas theme right there. Anyways, I’m going to keep picking up some plants here. These are the holiday Christmas um plant selection from Costa Farms. And we’re also going to be looking at a wide range of amorillis um bulbs that you can grow as holiday decor. Heat. Hey, Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Hey, Heat. So, plant foldies. What do you guys think so far of all of the holiday themed plants? I am also in love with all of these self-watering planters. This one right here is a filadendron heterasium, just the neon variety. And these are all of the live trends design plants. Look at how gorgeous that neon coloration is. I love the heart-shaped leaves of all of these um plants right over here. And this one is called Brook Selfwatering Planter by Live Trends Design. You know, with Live Trends Design, I say this time and time again, but they really do lead the aesthetics that I like in terms of planters. They’ve got a very modern, contemporary vibe about it. They’ve got a very minimalistic approach, but um I just love the fact that these are plants that really look elevated because of the aesthetic. And you know, as far as planters, I do think that home decor plays a huge part in how you present your plants. And you know, in terms of your home decor, that is one way utilizing plants to really elevate your home’s value in terms of the aesthetic. Let me know in the comments section, plant foldies, if you agree or if you um actually have a very specific um niche or aesthetic when it comes to your planters. That’s something that I want to delve into next year in terms of just um plant styling and the way you present your plants. But I’m going to go ahead and just continue to walk around here and show you all of these um planters. You can see we’ve even got some um plants growing in straight hydroponics, which is just water. This one is a Dina white jewel and it’s got like a brass top to it. It looks like a Christmas ornament and that one is only for $15.98. So, if you want something simple, something easy to care for, something beginner friendly in terms of a house plant, this is one plant I would recommend. And then you can even see right over here. Look at this one. The minute details of this acorn look super cool. I love the fact that they’ve got like a leather type of um knot here for this um sansaria. And you can even see the matte finish. I also love the snowflake, the leather snowflake. That is just a lot going on without a lot of just being put out there with Live Trends design. And these are all low light tolerant plants, easy to care for plants. So if you want like a desktop type of decor, something that can tolerate a lower lighting condition in your home, you can buy one of these. And this one right here doesn’t take up a lot of space as well. I know often times we get excited about plants, but we also have to look at the space that we have in our homes on whether we can grow a lot of these plants. I honestly wish the house that I um own and live in would have actually tall ceilings because then I would have bigger plants in my space. But unfortunately, I don’t. But this right here is a prime example, perfect example of a budget friendly, easy to care for plant. This is one that if you’re going to do your Christmas shopping and you’re looking for um Christmas gifts and you want to give somebody a plant for Christmas, go ahead and get yourself a Live Trends design plant such as a Zezy plant. And then I’m just going to pan around here. Now, it’s interesting that they have all of these Nature Perfect succulents. They have many different types of of succulent arrangements. Love terracotta. That is one of my main um type of planters I like to put in my plant collection. I just love the classic look about it. This one is for $7.98. And so I’m just going to go ahead and continue to pick up some of these succulents. I am um steadily learning more about succulents. I didn’t even realize that certain succulents thrive in cooler conditions as opposed to like really um hot environments. So the more I learn about succulents, the more I’m probably going to end up getting succulents in my plant collection in the future. If you haven’t checked out my Texas Aeroid Show videos, my Texas Aeroid Show 2025 coverage, definitely check it out. Um, I know that YouTube may not have pushed a lot of it out to many of the subscribers. So, I urge everybody listening, watching, discovering this YouTube channel today to click onto my actual YouTube um channel and explore all of the videos I have. Again, I do daily 1-hour plan shopping videos. Um, and the Texas Aeroid Show coverage I have is available. You will see one of the beautiful succulents that I got from Star Succulents Garden. It is such a stunner. But as you can see right over here, we’ve got many different types of succulents that you can pick. You can actually pick a lot of these out and maybe even create your own um succulent arrangement. I really love this um um kalancho for instance. And we’re just going to keep picking these up. These ones right here are for $12.98. And look at the rosette um type shape it has. What a beautiful succulent. And I believe this one is an etcharia. And as far as the look of this one, you can see that it’s got some subtle gradation. It’s got some red and then it’s got some green. This one right over here has some little babies that are popping out that you can chop, stick in the surface of a soil and it will propagate itself. That is how easy these succulents will propagate. Look at how full this Lowe’s location is in terms of plants. So, it looks like um these big box stores are still getting shipments of plants. We’re going to go ahead and um keep looking at a couple of more succulent arrangements and then we’re going to look at some of the tropical plants. Look at this gold um planter here and look at the succulents that they have. They have a variegated jade plant or cusala. That is actually one of my favorite plants and it reminds me of my childhood because my grandmother grew a lot of jade plants. Um, that is actually one plant that is supposedly going to give you good fortune and prosperity. And what do y’all think of the particular musical track that is playing. This one is called Nutrients by my friend Jordan. Um I hope you guys like the custom soundtrack that we have on my YouTube channel. And so look at this right over here. This one is another Dina. That one is a Dina Mangiana. I love that green on green foliage. And you can see they’ve got some large foliage plants right over here. This one is a ficus lyada or fiddle fig leaf tree. That one is a finicky plant. At least mine has started to act up a little bit. And you can see these are the clearance rescue plants. We’re not really going to delve into that today. And I’m just going to continue to pick up some plants, walk around, maybe talk a couple of um you know, plant pricing. I mean, as you can see right here, this one is a really nice Dina. This one is for $15.98 in a selfwatering planter by Costa Farms. And that’s a really nice size plant for the price that they’re asking for. And then we’ve got an epiprennum panadam cebu blue poo. $16.98. I am actually propagating so many cutings of epipremnum panatum. I love that um bluish tint that it has. And you know in terms of epipremnum panatam a couple of things that you have to consider. This one needs a lot of light or more lighting than in a regular pose plant. And then also it needs more consistent watering because um it is a thirsty plant. So just FYI on that one. But that is a very fast growing, vigorous plant. And if you give it a um pole or some type of support, it will climb up and give you larger leaves. Over here, we’ve got a black rabbit’s foot fern. This one is for $16.98 by Costa Farms. Again, and all of these hanging baskets by Costa Farms. I’ve said this time and time again, I prefer the 6in hanging baskets because they’re easier to manage. I mean, you can see right here, look at this neon poo plant. my favorite pose plant to grow because obviously look at the color. How do you beat the color of this plant, any neon type plant does need quite a bit of bright indirect light. Just remember that if you’re going to grow anything neon colored, you need to give it lots of bright indirect light for it to really maintain its coloration. But as you can see right here, plant foldies. Not only are we looking at all of these wonderful Christmas themed plants, we are also looking at these budget friendly plants. If you’re looking to save money while you are Christmas shopping over the holiday season, I would say yes, big box stores is where it’s at in terms of, you know, finding plants. But that doesn’t mean that you should not be shopping local or shopping small because you will also get lots of um good plant pricing as well. I say this in every single video of mine, but I would say um diversify where you buy your plants. if it’s um big box stores because that’s the only places you can get plants or you’re more comfortable just shopping at big box stores. Don’t let somebody take your thunder and say just because you are supporting big box stores means that you do not care about small businesses or you’re putting small businesses out of business. Um some people may not have that luxury of having a strong community such as the Dallas Fort Worth plant community where we have many local small businesses out there. So, um it’s a topic that I like to bring up a little bit when it comes to my big box store plant shopping videos because even myself, people have um mentioned that I should not be pushing big box store um plants because it takes away from small businesses. But if you look at the um content I’ve created, I also love to put first and foremost our local businesses and plant shops. I would just say diversify where you get your plants. Um, I think that that’s really where you’re going to get the best value. You’re going to get the best selection and you’re going to make u many different types of connections with people. So, I’m going to get off of that little blurb here. As y’all already know, Pliesies, you know, I like to talk. Now, that you’ve also seen me go face on on YouTube. You’re going to see even more of my um personality, which I would say is a little bit eccentric, but you know what? If you’re feeling yourself, if you are your most authentic self, then you can’t really fault somebody for being that way. Especially when we are also trying to foster a plant community where we can gather, chat on the live chat. So, if you’re watching this video during a live premiere, don’t be shy. Go ahead and say hello to the plant foldies in the chats or um better yet, just remember, and this is my message for today’s video as well, is remember to be your most authentic self. Don’t let somebody um take away your your light. Um you should be that person that actually inspires people to be kind and just to continue to shine that light and kindness. So as we continue to look at these plants at big box stores or local plant nurseries and plant shops, just know that plants bring people joy. Plants make people happy. Um but you have to be happy within yourself as well. You have to be comfortable with knowing that, yeah, you might be that crazy plant person that might be hoarding plants, but you know what? This YouTube channel has a bunch of us out there where we’re literally hoarding plants or we’re addicted to plants. And that’s okay. We can all enjoy plants together. And speaking of enjoying plants, look at this Costa Farms epiprem allesimum variegated form. Oh my gosh, it has made it to Lowe’s location. And this one is for $19.98. And you know, shout out to Costa Farms. Costa Farms has made it more readily available for us to be able to get these um hard to get plants in a big box store to where they’re a more affordable plant price. And you know, that’s the thing about the plant world. Sometimes there are some really expensive plants. And sometimes that feels like um you know, people are gatekeeping. And that’s a reason why, you know what, when Costa Farms releases these plants, at least the general public, more people will love and grow plants. And I really feel like that is, you know, the essence of just growing plants. Plants should be accessible to everybody, right? Plant should be one that, you know, it should not cost an arm, a leg, a down payment for a home. At least in my opinion, unless you are somebody that is really collecting rare plants. Um, you know, this goes to another topic as I go walk around and pick up plants. Can y’all tell Plan Foldies that I’m just excited to just talk about many topics as we go big box store plant shopping. But in terms of just, you know, the amount of money we spend on plants, just know that if you are not buying plants for the price that’s being asked for, sometimes the plant pricing will go down because at the end of the day, you are only able to sell a plant for the plant pricing that people are willing to pay. And so I even look at it from like a business point. If you’re going to sell plants, try to be in a range where yes, you’re still going to be profitable, but don’t be asking somebody for like quadruple amount of what you paid for with the plant pricing. And that goes into all these other business models and business um um you know strategies which I will discuss in a later video. But as you can see right here, plant foldies, more budget friendly plants coming from Costa Farms and these are the exotic angel line. And you can see this one is a croton. And look at the coloration of this one. I just wish I could grow croons longterm um and have them actually um just really thrive like the ones that I saw whenever I went on vacation to the Philippines. That was um last year in July. And I just remember they were fullblown trees growing out in the outdoors in full sun and they were living and loving life. I mean look at this right here. This is a croton mame. This one is for $5.98. Basic care tips for croons, water them consistently. They don’t like to really stay dry for too long. Give them lots of light. Honestly, if you’re able to grow them outdoors throughout the year until it gets cold, I would just keep them outside and they will thrive for you. But as you can see right here, we are still picking up lots of plants. This one is a dyenbakia. This one is a really pretty plant as well. They kind of remind me of agonea. This is the dybakia cam by Costa Farm. So, you know, as far as Costa Farms plants, if you’re looking to, you know, give somebody a Christmas gift, you can always start with a um Costa Farms exotic angel plant, they’ve got so many different varieties. Now, as far as the ones that are beginner friendly and um bulletproof in terms of a person that’s never grown plants. Um there are a couple of varieties I would recommend in a future video, but let’s go ahead and just continue to pick up some plants here. Let me know in the comments section again, Plant Foldies, what you think. And I do miss um going out and doing big box store plant shopping videos. Y’all know that that’s really the core of the majority of my plant content here. This channel is um evolving and growing daily. And so I appreciate those that have taken the time to um subscribe to my channel. Um again, if you haven’t already, please make sure that you’re pressing the subscribe button with all the notification bell on. And I did want to talk about just some of the channel additional perks while I pick up these gorgeous plants by Urban Jungle Plants. If you haven’t already, give yourself a gift. Give me a Christmas gift. Um, if I’m being fully transparent, join my YouTube membership tier. It is literally for the price of a cup of coffee. I believe it’s either like $2.99 or $3.99. Um, you will have access to my membersonly videos. You will also have access to additional channel perks like special emojis. Um, you will also be highlighted during the live premiere chat and I will actually start selling um, Growfolds merch where you will also get a membersonly discount. So, um, if you can, please consider joining my YouTube membership tier. Um, all you have to do is press the join button if you’re watching this on a computer. Now, if you’re watching this on a YouTube app on your phone, you can just click the link that is pinned in the comment section of this video. It would bring me so much joy if you join my YouTube membership here, which is called the Super Plant Foldies. And again, shout out to my super plant foldy from Pennsylvania, David, for always always gifting YouTube membership tiers to other plant foldies. That’s another way to support this channel alongside with a super sticker, a monetary tip that you can give a content creator like myself on YouTube. Um, as a monetary tip, you just press the dollar sign and just enter any amount and that does help with my gas money and all of the things that are required um, financially for me to produce these videos on YouTube. But anyways, let me go ahead and get off of my shameless plug. Y’all know that um I kind of don’t have shame when it comes to me being very transparent on the things that I would hope and need from the viewers and that’s just a little bit of the sustainability of this channel. Anyways, this right here again is a mixture of um plants that are holiday themed. You can see that we’ve got Norfolk pine mixed in with Sansaria and obviously my favorite um fertilizer or one of them and that is Miracle Grow allpurpose fertilizer. We’ve got more plants right over here. Like look at this Live Trends design planter. Love the subtlety of it. And so I’m just going to keep picking up some plants and showing you what they have to offer. Go. Hey. Hey. You’ll see that we have different types of aesthetics when it comes to live trends design plants. You can see that this one right here has a woven basket look. This one is a beautiful planter. Love the aesthetic behind this. This one is a pachura aquatica or what you also known as the um money tree plant. This one is just the stump which I actually prefer versus the braided form of this particular plant. Beautiful plant. This one is one that is supposedly supposed to bring you money. So, we all need a money tree plant. And then you can see right here, this one is a horthia in a beautiful ceramic stone wear by Live Trends Design. Again, this one is for $15.98. So, if you have somebody that’s like me that likes really that modern look, these are the types of planters you want to go ahead and give somebody if you’re going Christmas shopping or if you’re going to give a gift for plants. Um, and then you can even see right over here, Live Trends Design, but this one doesn’t um, it’s not a Live Trends design plant. This is actually an urban jungle planter, but it looks very similar to Live Trends design. You can see that this one is an alicacia poly. And, you know, as far as alicacas, very challenging plants to grow. I’ve tried to even grow alicacia in semihydroponic substrates and even then they end up getting like spider might. there is a um I guess some environments that are just better for alicacas. And then we’re just going to go ahead and pick up some more plants. So, I love love love this live trends design planter. Look at this. It’s got a very subtle but very holiday theme. It does remind you of Christmas. And this one is a filidendrin um neon. This one was another beautiful filidendrin that needs, you know, bright indirect light in order for it to really get that neon coloration. $14.98. And we’ve got a urban jungle planter. This one is a ficus elastika ruby. And you know, to get the ruby coloration and with ficus elastica or rubber tree plants, they really just need lots of light. Um, I grow mine outdoors in full sun whenever it’s, you know, the weather is warm and they just grow a lot more leaves that way. You can also prune them back to actually encourage more um branching. This one is the ficus elastica taniki. So, lots to pick from and I’m just going to go ahead and continue to pick up some more of these plants. This one is a Dina Janet Craig compacta. Love this one. This one is for $24.98. I love the light blue that it has. It’s another like subtle holiday type theme planter. And I mean, just look at how sleek this one is. Love it. I just love that it has those gold lines. And that’s it. I just love that um accent that it has on the planter. And as I pan around over here, we’ve got even more plants. The majority of these plants are going to be mostly from Urban Jungle Plants. This one right over here is a variegated um miniature chifller. This one is also in a terracotta planter. $13.98 by Urban Jungle Plants. And I love urban jungle plants especially because of the terracotta or natural earth tones that they have for their um their planters. And then you can even see right here more urban jungle planters. This one again is only for $13.98. What a beautiful snake plant. This is a beautiful sansaria right over here. Urban jungle always brings in the heat when it comes to these natural tone looking planters. Again, urban jungle planters or even these types of plants like these sansaria make great Christmas gifts in terms of an introduction to growing plants because the last thing you need is to give somebody a headache in terms of trying to keep a plant because you know what if you give a plant to somebody and then they end up feeling obligated to try to keep them alive then that’s really not the best gift to give somebody or at least in my opinion. So I would even say you know what you should go ahead and get this urban jungle plant right here. This is an agliona silver bay for $13.98. And again, plant foes, one of the easiest plants to grow. One of the most underrated plants in general. Hashtagpopularize agliona. Let’s continue to push that campaign to get more people in love with aglioneas and that is one of the best gifts to give. This would not necessarily be a good Christmas gift to give. And the reason being is it is a green a silver band morantha because you can even see there is a little bit crisping on the leaves. This is more of an advanced um type of plant for somebody that has a little bit more experience in growing plants. Same thing with ferns. I wouldn’t really recommend ferns as the best type of plant to give as a Christmas gift or a present in general. Now, this right here, thank you to the plant foldy that gave me the plant ID. This is an interesting plant. This is called an ant plant. I don’t know a lot about it. It almost reminds you of being more of a succulent type plant. It does have a codex or a really thick trunk. Um let me know in the comments section what you think if and also also the um the plant care tips for it. But we’re going to go ahead and just continue to pick up plants and I’ll just show you some of my picks right over here. And I am back at loving my first love of plants, which is singoniums. This is a singonium maria in a 6-in planter. I actually really like this um singonium. $16.98 by Costa Farms. And I really thought about getting this one, but as far as you know, me trying to manage my finances and actually having a little bit of restraint, I went ahead and just put this back. But this would have been the plant that I would have bought today. There were actually two plants. Um, I love, you know, the epipremnum panatum cebu blue poo. I can’t have enough of these. And again, with this particular plant, this is endemic to my home country, the Philippines. And I did want to just put this out there as well. Um, for those that don’t know, I love Miss Universe. Most Filipinos are all about Miss Universe, which is an international beauty pageant. What did y’all think about the results of Miss Universe 2025, where Miss Mexico won? Let me know in the comments section below. I am still super proud of Atisa Manalo, Miss Universe Philippines 2025. She ended up being third runner up. Although I wish she was in the top two with Colt Devois and Philippines. But you know what? Sometimes Destiny may not be playing in the cards. But yes, that is just a little tidbit. I do want to know if anybody does watch Miss Universe, what you thought about Miss Universe 2025. I know it’s a little bit of off topic, but it’s um something I’m curious. Anyways, this right here is a beautiful epiprenum arium neon queen pose. So, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a neon queen poo in an 8 inch hanging basket by Costa Farms. $20.98 and this would have been the second plant I would have bought. This plant would actually make a great Christmas gift for me. I’m just kidding. For anybody because pose plants are very easy to care for plants. Um, they do need bright indirect light. Um, you can propagate them fairly easily. like this one is ready for um a haircut, a chop, so you can create more plants. And then over here, we’ve got some more beautiful terracotta planters. I love the um the wooden beads as an accent. This one is a fus elastica ruby by Urban Jungle Plants. And this one is only for $24.98. Um so we’re just going to continue to pick up some more of these plants right here. As you can see, this Lowe’s location has quite a bit of plants. I’m considering that the months are getting a little bit cooler. And here is another Singonium. And this one is a stunner to me, or at least I believe it is. This one is for how much? $15.98. This is a singium milk confetti. I love the pink splashes on it. And we have another one right over here. I also like that Urban Jungle um hanging ceramic planters have these um really nice um patterns on it. So, I wouldn’t even mind growing these Urban Jungle planters. Um, and that’s the thing about big box store plant shopping. You will always find very much so budget friendly plants. I will say if you’re looking to save money during the holiday season, if you’re looking for even Black Friday specials, Black Friday deals this week, definitely download um any of the big box store um apps. So like Target, for instance, has the Target Circle app and I know Target has some amazing Black Friday deals. Um, Lowe’s has um a app as well where you can get the My Lowe’s rewards um program and then also Home Depot has um an um a shopping app as well. So, these big box stores definitely have it. And you can see right here, look at this. This amorillis looks almost like elbow variegation, but it looks like it just hasn’t gotten its green chlorophyll just yet. And then over here, we’re going to keep picking up some more plants from um Costa Farms. These are the exotic angel plants for $5.98. Beautiful Rex Beonia. And of course, we’ve got a Hedra helix. Say it with me. Hedra helix. That is the Hideera helix, which is the correct way to say it. That is the Gold Baby English ivy. And then we also have a Dina Florida beauty here. And I love this. I love the cosmic speckles of this particular plant. This one is for $5.98. For anybody that loves the Hoya, take a look at this beautiful Hoya right over here. $16.98. It’s a nice and lush full Hoya basket. And then what else do we have here? So, we have some more live trends design um holiday themed planters. Look at this epiprenum arm pearls and jade poo. But look at the minute details of this particular planter. That is so beautiful to me. And again, you know, in terms of planters, you can actually um just buy the planter and, you know, store it when the holiday season is over. I love the red berries that it has here. And of course, what an easy to care for plant. This one is for $16.98. I would recommend this plant as a great Christmas present. So, if you’re doing your Christmas shopping, again, if you are looking to save money and get the best value for your money, get yourself a Live Trends design um hanging ceramic planter like this. This one right here is another um plant that I wouldn’t necessarily recommend because it is a very delicate type fern. I do like the texture, but it’s not beginner friendly. I would just recommend getting the pearls in jade pos. This would be my top choice in terms of the holiday theme aesthetic. This is by Live Trends Design again for $16.98. And we’re just going to continue to um go around and look at some of these plants right over here. Feel free to leave in the comment section again, Plan Foldies, what you think of some of the plant selections here. Um it does make me want to go plant shopping again. But, you know, coming back from just all of the adrenaline and and just the fun that I had at the Texas Aeroid Show, I am trying to be a little bit more budget friendly, budget conscious about the money I am spending on plants. But you already know in a future video this week, I am going to show you another shipment that I got from my friend Leaf Crafter of Indonesia. He ended up sending me some more plants that went from um you know, that shipped through Art Garden Flowers. So again, please make sure you are following art garden.flowers on Instagram and um consider getting some plants from overseas. Now over here is a Vanda orchid and that is such a beautiful plant right here. Look at the aerial roots of all of these Vanda orchids. I just find them works of art as well. And you know, as far as Vanda um orchids, I wish I could grow them, but they really do require quite a bit of light more so than that typical orchid. But it is a beautiful one. There is one Vanda orchid that is um um very near and dear to my heart. It is called the Walling Walling orchid. Vanda Orchid. It is from the Philippines. And some people even say that that should be the national flower of the Philippines. So a little bit of tidbit about my home country which is the Philippines. The national flower is called sagittita which is basically um known as the Arabian jasmine. That is also the flowers that are used for jasmine tea. That is the national flower of the Philippines. So there you go. Just a little bit of tidbit right there. Now over here we’re looking at some more horthas. These are smaller hanging um planters by Live Trends Design. So you can see these are in the 2 and 1/2 in planters. Love it. So if you need if you have a small space and you want to just like hang a small plant, that is it for you. And then we also have these little tropical arrangements where we have a Dina mixed in with some Felinopsis orchids. So let’s just continue to walk around here and look at these plants. Heat. Heat. So, I have not entered my orchid phase, and I don’t know if I’ll ever enter my orchid phase, but this particular Vanda orchid may end up opening a new world for me in terms of just collecting orchids, cuz look at how beautiful the blooms are. That purple, deep, majestic bloom is stunning. And you know what makes me sad about it is these Vando orchids. This one’s for $3648. Um, a lot of people don’t end up buying them. And it’s quite interesting that they actually offer these orchids at a big box store like Lowe’s because Vando orchids are more of a specialty type orchid. Either way, this is a beautiful plant. I mean, if somebody drops a super sticker or a super thanks or does YouTube membership tier, um, you know, gifting, I may end up coming back here and buying this particular orchid, this is a stunner. And I just love the purple blooms. I just hope that it may end up finding a home because that is a living work of art. But as far as today’s video, you can see we’ve got a lot of holiday themed plants. You can see right over here, this is another one by Live Trends Design, $16.98. This is a filidendran heteracium Brazil. Look at how beautiful the leaves are. And you know these um common house plants, basic house plants, beginner friendly house plants are um the way to go if you are going to gift somebody a plant for Christmas. Um I am that type of person that I typically don’t do a lot of Christmas shopping. I just tend to either make gifts and I still um need to send out some of my origami paper cranes to some of my loyal plant foldies. Um, Angelie, I have not forgotten about you. So, if you’re listening and watching today, I have your origami paper cranes ready to ship. I’m going to actually have my mother-in-law do that this coming Tuesday, I believe, because um I have lots of gifts I want to send out to some of the plant foldies. And as we wrap up today’s video, I did want to pick up a couple of more of these planters here um to show you what they have in terms of holiday themed Christmas planters. Look at this polar bear. That’s really cute as well. in this one is um housing an airplane and you know airplants that’s a quick and easy way to add a little bit of greenery and still have something that is living and potentially can thrive for you with the right care conditions. But um as far as you know this end cap right here, we are just going to start wrapping up this video by looking at some of the gorgeous Live Trends design plants, the selections that they have as well. Have y’all gone Christmas shopping yet? Has anybody else been recently going to big box stores and um finding some holiday themed plants? Please leave that in the comment section below. And again, Plant Foldies, um I’ve missed, you know, making these consistent big box store plant shopping. So, just know I will have more of these available. It might get a little hectic this week with the holiday season. And I hope everybody is going to have an amazing week in terms of, you know, Black Friday if you’re going to go shopping for um some deals. But more importantly, enjoy Thanksgiving. There is a lot to be thankful for. And for me, it’s all about being thankful for the plant community that we have built and establish and continue to grow on the Planfold YouTube channel. And again, for every single person that takes the time to watch my videos, to share my videos, to leave comments on my videos, to press the like button for my videos, I am so thankful to you, and I hope that you guys continue to support my YouTube channel. I mean, this channel again started out as a way for me to deal with some of my anxieties, and now it has become a full-fledged um part of my daily life in terms of just bringing joy to anybody that likes to talk about plans, see plans, or just have a space where we can all interact and socialize as well. So, that’s something that I’m super thankful for. um as I reflect and think back of how this year has been for me, just the opportunities I have and obviously on Thanksgiving um day, I will have a long playing video. So, if anybody wants to just hang out with the plant foldies, know that that I will have that scheduled for y’all. But, as I um pick up a couple more plants and wrap up this big box store plant shopping video, I hope you guys have um really enjoyed looking at some of the selections of the plants. I know that um this is really the staple of this YouTube channel. Um it’s interesting because um I put in a lot of work with things that are not um say big box store and for some reason the algorithm doesn’t always push out those videos. So I do ask anybody that is watching today’s video as I look at this beautiful neon poo for instance go ahead and share my Texas Aeroid Show videos, my Plan Con videos. I was surprised that Plantcon didn’t really get um pushed out to as many plant lovers. So, if you are looking to binge watch some of these videos, just backtrack and look at some of the videos I have uploaded in the past week and a half, two weeks, I would love to hear from you guys as well in the comments section or if you are going to #teamre replay. But yes, as far as um these plants right here, there are a couple of selections I would definitely want to add to my collection. Um, this Hoya for instance is one that I actually have considered getting just because I do have a couple of Hoya growing in my plant collection. I wouldn’t necessarily say I am a Hoya lover, but this one right here, look at this holiday planter. That is such a gorgeous one by Live Trends Design. I love the minute details. And then all of these hanging basket plants from Costa Farms as well. Like I said again, I prefer the 6-in hanging basket, but that neon queen poo, I have to pick it up again. Look at that. Isn’t that a lovely poo plant? Look at that neon color variegation on it. And again, that is only for $20.98. And when you compare it to the golden poo, you can clearly see that this one is a little bit brighter. All right, plant foldies. It looks like we are about to wrap up today’s big box store plant shopping video. Please make sure you are um looking at some of the plants and considering buying them. Let me know in the comment section again what plants you would gift um somebody if you were to go Christmas shopping and actually give a house plant as a holiday gift. This Lowe’s location, it’s quite full. So, if you’re living in the DFW area, definitely check it out. And again, consider joining my YouTube membership tier. That could be your Christmas holiday gift for me. It does give you more perks, membersonly videos. And as some of the videos start popping up on the screen, definitely click on the videos that are popping up on the screen so you can watch more content. My name is Richie at Growfolds. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel with all the notification bell on. I am definitely going to have some brand new videos lined up this holiday week. I hope everybody is having fun and we are definitely going to have a full-blown plant um party throughout the week as I continue to get this new content. And I’ll see you on the next one.

  1. 7:20 Amen to that! I’ve worked in retail and it gets crazy! Even other jobs involving customers, humans in general can get so crabby to have to deal with during the holidays.

  2. 16:35 I have begun putting up my outdoor Christmas lights. Inside I just have my gingham patterned red and black β€œChristmas/winter” tablecloth put on my dining room table. I had all the plants taken off the table last weekend for my YouTube video. So before I put them back on, I put the tablecloth on.

  4. 47:00 If you give a fern for Christmas, you might as well rake up some dry leaves from the yard and give those instead. Because eventually they will be the same thing. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  5. Hi Richie ❀❀❀❀I was watching the live last night couldn't chat though I'm not feeling well I'm still waiting for my surgery next month to remove Gallstones but I really wanted you to know hearing your voice helps me so much when I'm going through painful days, like last night I truly thank you ❀❀❀❀❀ I woke up this morning in pain so I'm rewatching today ❀❀❀❀❀

  6. I've always had artificial Christmas trees, except for one year we decided to try a real one. The cats usually don't pay attention to the plants, so we didn't think it would be a problem, but one of them ate some of the needles (or maybe drank some of the water) and got sick. She made a full recovery, but we put that tree outside and decided to stick with the artificial trees from then on. Sometimes I'll put some pine scented air fresheners hidden in the tree for the Christmassy aroma.πŸŽ„πŸ˜Š

  7. You talk and ramble too much, promoting angolamena and reminding your supporters you are proud Philippine. The music puts me to sleep. IJS
