Matt Cowan-Dickie from Garden City Runners took part, recounting the atmospheric yet challenging run caused by fog and thick mist caused by the day-before rains.
He said: “Finally, a shout out to the Centurion team and the volunteers, who were amazing. I loved every minute of those 10 hours and will be signing up for more ultramarathon punishment/enjoyment in 2026!”
Ranked 22nd male, 26th overall, and ninth in his age category, Matt finished just above his target of 10 hours, at 10 hours and three minutes.

Warming up in Palermo, Fredi Giliberti participated in the city’s 30th marathon, a two-lap, 21.1km race, in 24-degree heat.
Despite basic water stations and absence of pacers, he managed a finish within the four-hour and 30-minute mark.
He also remarked on the commitment to “parkrun tourism” with plans to return to Palermo for one of the city’s three parkruns.
In Gravesend, Aiden and Nadine Dwyer faced the ‘Road Runner’ series, organised by Phoenix Running and Runbelievable Challenges, which extended over five days.
Marathon runner Nadine Dwyer reported: “The weather was harsh all week — heavy rain, sleet, freezing temperatures and icy winds — and a tough hilly course to tackle each day … basically like doing hill reps over marathon distances!”
She said: “The atmosphere out on the course was friendly and supportive, with the organisers and marshals going above and beyond — encouraging, cheerful and constantly looking out for the runners.
“Sharing the course with people who understand the madness of turning up day after day in those conditions really helped.
“There was a real sense of camaraderie out there which made the tough moments that bit easier to get through.
“Looking forward to resting our tired legs for a few days now.”
Nadine completed three marathons and two half-marathons in five days, while Aiden ran his first back-to-back marathons, finishing four marathons and one half-marathon.
Garden City Runners celebrated nearly 100 club members taking part in last weekend’s parkruns.
A particularly remarkable performance was by Jack Tann, who came fourth at the Finsbury parkrun with a time of 18 minutes and eight seconds.
Jess Timmins was the first woman through the Rickmansworth funnel in 19 minutes and 25 seconds.
Matt Cowan-Dickie took third place at the Panshanger race, finishing with a time of 19 minutes and 35 seconds.
