Hosted by The Royal Parks in The Regent’s Park, almost 200 members of the public planted thousands of spring bulbs in the new two-acre memorial garden for Queen Elizabeth II.

Still under construction, the garden welcomed guests for the first time for a behind-the-scenes tour whilst planting a variety of bulbs including tulips, alliums and grape hyacinths.

Fiona Packe, head gardener for the new garden says “planting these bulbs allows the community to leave a lasting mark on a space that will honour Queen Elizabeth II”.

The garden has been designed by the Royal Parks landscape team alongside HTA Design, with Blakedown Landscapes as the official landscape contractors.

Its official opening will be next spring.
