There’s a local chain restaurant we visit, and this summer they had beautiful large plantings at their entry, with coleus and baby sun rose (aptenia cordifolia ‘variegata’).

With permission (manager: “yeah, sure, do whatever you want“) I snipped a cutting or two of the baby sun rose each time we went there over the course of the summer. As they rooted, I planted them individually in little pots. Today I combined all the survivors into one pot.

We went back to the restaurant over the weekend, and of course those summer plants were long gone. I like the fact that these babies will spend the winter under grow lights (they’re continuing to flower!) and become part of a beautiful planter at my own front door in the spring. 💚👶🏻☀️🌹
