I’ve been wanting to add some smart outdoor lighting to a section of our backyard that doesn’t have any lighting, and these Lumary Smart Landscape Spotlights might be exactly what I needed. In this video, I unbox and set up a 6-pack of WiFi-connected RGB spotlights that you can control from your phone, with a remote, or even with voice commands through Alexa and Google. The setup was surprisingly straightforward, and I have to say, the app gives you incredible control over colors, brightness, and even individual light customization. I tested everything from solid colors to preset scenes like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Halloween modes.
What really impressed me about these Lumary spotlights is how versatile they are for creating different moods in your outdoor space. Whether you want a warm white for everyday ambiance or colorful scenes for parties and holidays, the app makes it super easy to switch between 16 million color options. The lights are IP65 rated so they’re weatherproof, they come with a 56-foot cable connecting all six lights, and they’re built with solid lightweight metal construction. I’ve seen these priced anywhere from $70 to $100, which seems pretty reasonable for what you’re getting. Let me walk you through the unboxing, setup, app features, and show you how these look when it gets dark!

But where is it all? Over at https://HighTechDad.com !
For outdoor lighting, I’ve always followed the mantra of less is more. So that means not lighting up everything so that it’s basically daytime at night because you’re supposed to be out enjoying the darkness. However, the boss, my wife, loves having lots of lights and being able to set up different types of environments within the backyard for any type of occasion. So, I’m following the boss’s lead here. But the nice thing about having lighting is you can turn it on and turn it off. So today I’m going to be going through a product that I think is going to make her happy because you can turn it on, turn it off, dim it, change colors, that sort of thing. And I think it’s going to actually add a nice ambiance to an area of our yard that doesn’t currently have any type of lighting. But it’s got to be dark before I can show it to you. I’ll go through some stuff and we’ll go from there. Hi, it’s Hi-Tech Dad. Welcome to my channel where I review all types of tech products for the home, for on the- go, and for work. I’ve been doing tech reviews for over 20 years now, and you can see a lot of my written content at my website at high-techdad.com. And thanks for visiting my YouTube channel. Today we are taking a look at the Lumry Lumry Smart Landscape Spotlight. And thanks to Lumry for sending me out this uh sample so I could do the review, the setup and and produce this video and and my written review. So this is a pretty small box and I will be going through the what’s on the box and what’s in the box shortly. So stay tuned for that. But basically, it is a set of six small spotlights, which I will show later. I’ve already actually set them out in an area, and we’ll have to see how it looks at night. I may have to move things around and get the boss’s approval on positioning and colors and that sort of thing. But the nice thing about this is it is Wi-Fi connected. It has a remote control. It has a button you can press if you don’t have access to the remote control or your smartphone. You can control it with like Google and Alexa as well. Once you have it all configured, I will be going through the setup and configuring the app and then we’ll play around with some of the lighting settings. So you can have various types of of of scenarios or scenes that are pre-programmed, but you can also program it yourself. So let’s dive in and head into the on the box and in the box and then setting it up and testing it out. Time to see what’s on the box of the Lumry Smart Landscape Spotlight. So here we have two of them displayed. I believe that there are Yes, there are six of them. It’s got a 56 ft length to it. IP65, so you can leave these out in the rain. Should be good. It does say that it is outdoor rated RGBI and it has a wide range of colors as well as uh whiteness levels. 16 million colors. just some displays of what it might look like when it’s on. And then on the top here, it has some of the specifications. So, you can see the model number, voltage, how many lights, beam angle, operating temperature, the rating, and the 15,000 hour life for that. So, let’s see what’s inside the box. So, I not opened this yet. It’s kind of hard to believe that there are six of these lights inside. It’s a fairly small box, but we shall see what’s inside. So, here you have everything carefully packaged up. It looks like here are the stakes that go into the ground. Here are three and three more. So, it looks like they are plastic and it looks like there is an attachment for the lights. Then you have the power cord itself. So it does seem to have a good waterproof connector here. You can see it unscrews and goes right in here making a watertight seal. It looks like there is a onoff button. You can probably control this without using an app obviously to turn it on and off. And then things are again connected via this watertight connection. And then we have lots of cords and the lights themselves. So I won’t unpack all of the lights, but I do want to unpack one to show you how small these actually are. So you can see the LEDs inside. There is a pivot here that probably needs to be released a little bit with a hex wrench. Not sure if that is included, but I will take a look. So, these are the other lights inside. And then you also get, this is kind of nice, a remote control. So, if you don’t have the app, you can control things on, off, the mode, the dim, the auto, you can control the RGB, the white whiteness level, and I’m not sure what CW is, but here’s the the remote for it. So, then lastly, there is a manual, and I will take a look at this and see how it all works, but let’s just take a look really quickly. It shows very clear instructions here. Registering your account, connecting, different types of troubleshooting, the app functionality. So, I’ll have to install the app. And then it looks like there are a lot of different controls that you can do and you can group things together. So, anyway, I am going to be setting this up outside obviously in an area where we don’t have any lighting right now. So, it should be kind of interesting to see how this works. So, here’s one of the flood lights that I put together. And it actually is quite solid. This is not plastic. It is a lightweight metal, so I was able to drive it into the ground. This pivots, but you don’t want it to pivot too much. And then screwing it in is just a matter of unscrewing that and screwing it into the base. It’s very, very simple. Before I configure the app, I figured I’d show the very simple remote. So, there are a lot of different buttons on here. I’ve tested out some of them. Probably have to read the manual on some of the things. But the nice thing is is that once you do have it plugged in, all you have to do is hit the on and you can see it turned on. It’s hard to see during the day, but that is a green light. There are buttons right here that can go directly to a color. So red, green, and blue. You have warm white. So that’s a warmer uh uh spectrum side of white. And then you have cool white. Then you also have different things you can do with this uh control right here. You can dim it down if you want. So I’m clicking on it and it’s slowly getting dimmer. It’s kind of hard to see probably during the day, but then it gets brighter. You can also change modes. So, when they are all chained up, and there are six of them, it is now flashing on and off. Just looks like one thing turning on and off, but it is actually doing it down the line of the other lights. And you can cycle through different modes, and I’ll learn what those are. It’s probably going to be easier to see on the app itself, but you can control everything that you want on this remote pretty much, but I think, like I said, more control probably on the smartphone app. So, we’ll take a look at that. All right. So, it’s been a few weeks since I played around with the lights, and I figured while I’m waiting for it to get dark, it’s not quite dark yet, I would show some of the features on the app. So, I do have the app installed on this uh iPhone of mine and what I’m going to do is launch it and we can like take a look at the features itself. So, while you can see it on the screen here, I also wanted to be sure that I did a screen share of this so that you can uh actually see some of the functionality. So, you can see it has my home listed in here. It’s got some other information there, listings for potentially all devices, a room list, that sort of thing. I kept it fairly simple and just have the back color flood lights is what I named it on my dashboard here. So, you can click on that and then you get a screen where you can control a variety of different things. So, currently the lights are off. There is a power button at the bottom where I can turn it on. You can’t really see it right now, but trust me, it is on. I can see it on one of the lights over there. And you can adjust different things like color temperature, the brightness. You can also change it over to the color side. So, you can change whatever light you want and you can adjust the brightness on that as well. So, those are some pretty basic functions on it. And then you have some other abilities here. Listed at the top are lights that you can individually adjust. I believe I haven’t played around with that too much, but you can see there are 1 2 3 4 5 six lights in there. And you can change how those react and that sort of thing. Then you can select all the lights or you can um just have a few of the lights active. You can change how many lights are in your default set. So I could adjust that, leaving it at six. Then there’s some other things on here, some preset scenarios where you can create your own lighting scenario. They have some pre-built in which are pretty cool. And this is what I’m going to show once it gets dark. They have a life one where you can be the life of the party, you can be trendy, that sort of thing. You can have it set up for um a festival type of thing. I have it set right now on Father’s Day, but you can just sort of click around and automatically change the lighting environment. And then they have moods that you can set. You can also set them to react to sound and music, so rhythm. Or if you have a game playing, you could have them react to the game sounds on your iPhone. There are some other things here. not sure what romantic is and how that hooks in. And then you can also set up other types of calendarbased events. So that’s a really quick overview of the app. It’s really easy to use. And then you can turn it off directly within the interface. So it’s finally gotten dark enough out. I have the lights on. They’re just in a sort of a warm white color. And I have the app here. I just figured I’d show a couple of things. So right now it’s in the white mode. I can change it to color mode and maybe change it to a red. So now you can see everything is red or green or purple or turquoise. So it’s really easy to select all of them. I can also individually change some of the colors. So, like I can select one and maybe let’s see I have to deselect all of them and then I can change just one of them to green. So, that one went green. I could change it another one to green and this one to green or change it to red. That one is red now. So, you can have a lot of granular control using um the application. So then other things that you can do is you can have various lights that just sort of change. This is the Christmas one. You can change it to Valentine’s Day where it sort of fades in, fades out different colors. I’m going to change it to scenery. This is where it’s going down the line and changing different colors. I can do singing oral orioles on the willow or glacier express. They have all these different ones that you can do and select from. You can have the Halloween one which is kind of interesting as well. So anyway, lots of different things within the app that you can do. So, that’s a quick overview of the Lumary Smart Outdoor Flood Lights color LEDs. Um, walk through the setup and and how easy it is to control them. What do you guys think? Are these uh something that you would want to set up in your backyard? I was thinking about using them for Halloween. Um, just the fact that you can control them super easily, either turning it on physically on the power cord itself or using the included remote control or obviously using the smart app, which is um, really, really great. You can hook it into Alexa and to Google to do some voice commands, but I prefer the app itself just because it has so much control and I’ve only just started playing around with it. So, I really think you should check these out. They retail for at the the highest I’ve seen them is about um $100, but I’ve seen them down to 70, maybe even less than that. So, I will share um links down in the description below. So, be sure to visit that. And again, thanks to Lumry for sending me out a sample so I could do this review. Hope you like the review.
