That is a lot! What do you do with that many persimmons?

  2. BuffaloGwar1

What do they taste like? I no I could google it. But I would rather hear what you think they taste like. You obviously eat alot of them. Maybee time to buy a wine press for you.

Wow! I’d also like to know what you do with them – can they be canned/preserved?

Can I be best friends with your grandma. ❤️ persimmons are my favorite fall food. Yes I said food. I could eat them all day during fall. 😍

Thanks for the reminder to visit my neighbor 😁

I made a lot of persimmon bread this year. Delicious. You could have so much bread!

  8. Nyondasnest

Yum! That’s ALOT of persimmons. Hope you have some recipes lined up! We always make persimmon bread and persimmon hot sauce with the ones from our trees.

When they are ripe, I put them in my oatmeal or in yogurt. They are mushy enough to eat with a spoon. They are very sweet, but if you eat them when they aren’t ripe enough they are dreadful. My neighbor gives me a lot of persimmons every year, but this year his crop was meager. His wife doesn’t like them, so I get most of them. I’ve made persimmon cookies which are yummy, and persimmon bread which was not yummy ( I forgot the baking powder so it was more like a brick). If you have too many to use before they go bad, best to let them ripen, then scoop out and freeze them 2 or 3 in a package. You can have delicious persimmon cookies all year!

My seeds were all spoons. How did yours come out?

  13. pueblocatchaser

At least one of those needs to put some pants on, persipants.

  14. DwightsJello

Oh wow. How many trees are we talking?

  15. peonyseahorse

I’m drooling! I love persimmons! Enjoy eating, sharing them, preserving, and using them for products (persimmon soap).

  16. Where do I send my address? I’ll pay for shipping. Yummy

  17. Deep-Maybe666

I have a lot of persimmon I don’t know what to do with it

  18. No_Cupcake4487

Dang…. Tell your grandma I said hi. I’ll be swinging by 😀

  19. Comfortable-Park-479

Dried persimmons . . . Glorious, chewy, sweet and delicious jerky!!

  20. SweetPiee1

Wow, that’s a lot! What do you make with them all?

  21. ArtisticWolverine

My neighbor has a tree full. I hope the harvest them instead of letting them rot.

  22. NameLips

I love persimmons. I have a couple old family recipes for persimmon cookies and persimmon pudding from my grandmother.

  23. GucciAviatrix

Hell yeah! They make a nice light fruity wine if fermented with some champagne yeast and added sugar to boost ABV

  24. Hortusana

So apparently the roast and ground seeds taste almost exactly like coffee. No caffeine though.

  25. CoffeeTeaPeonies

OMG your grandma is so lucky! Persimmons are amazing 😍! One of my favorite poems is named after them.

Being able to eat a persimmon that ripened on a tree is glorious.

  26. In Northern California and my mom had a bumper crop of persimmons this year also. My wife ended up making persimmon cookies! They are very good!
