BROOKLYN (WABC) — One of the most spectacular light displays of the holiday season officially made its return to New York City.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden flipped the switch on for its annual “Lightscape” show on Friday night.

This year, the winter light show features a redesigned, mile-long trail that transforms the garden into an enchanted forest. The show boasts 19 distinct installations, all of them highlighting the beauty of the garden during winter.

There will also be a curated soundtrack for the show, as well as special dining and drinking attractions for visitors.

“We’re excited to once again welcome New Yorkers to Lightscape to begin the holiday season,” said Kathryn Glass, interim Brooklyn Botanic Garden co-director. “The trail has been reimagined to celebrate BBG’s natural landscape and immerse each visitor into an enchanted forest with captivating light installations by world-renowned artists.”

Now in its fifth year, the show has been dazzling hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to watch the luminous installations and light-splashed landscapes.

The exhibition runs through January 4, 2026.
