What are these white fuzzy dots in between all of the indentations of my plant? And I mean every.single. indentation.

you can breathe, op 😌 they aren’t mealyfucks

I’m so glad you asked this!!! Mine is doing this too. But they’re like so perfectly placed I figured they weren’t mealy bugs

Those are naturally part of the plant. Please don’t hurt her because of it. 🙁

That is a sign of a very healthy cactus! My cacti have these and then they bloom

“I’ll throw ths bch out.” With no additional reasoning Is such a nonchalant way to gravely threaten your plants, I like it.

I am so glad u asked in here! It would have been horrible if you just tossed that stunning plant like it never was

Happy and healthy cactus. I have the same or similar. Those points will likely flower next spring.

Yours is nearing the “flop over” stage which is also normal. I would recommend a rectangular pot where it can lay down and be supported by a board or something.

  8. Yeah, when you first see the little white hairs, it’s kind of freaky. But it’s just cactus fuzz. 🙂

I am freaking dying!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I zoomed and zoomed and zoomed 😵‍💫 and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with that beauty. Look how tall she is. 😍

Here’s my ACE. So resilient and healthy. This is her story. I had her in a shallow pot with two others that somehow caught root rot (losers 👎🏽). Their names were Aye, Bea + Cee.

Welp, when the two rotted off — I assume for being greedy & slopping up too much water — I renamed my survivor cactus Ace, & she still lives today. ♥️

Trichomes. They help regulate a plant’s temperature, usually found on plants that get lots of sun.

Put some googly eyes on it so you know where it stands with you next time, OP

But does he just know? I also have them on the only thorn

It’s ruined. Send it to me so I can properly dispose of it before it spreads.

Hey, uh…two of my cacti started getting those. Like you, I was concerned…until some of them got real big and grew flowers. Pretty sure yours is okay.Don’t throw it out just b/c it’s going through puberty, lol.

Mealies would be much less regularly-spaced and consistent.

When the fuzz is ‘symmetrical’ and consistently placed like this, it’s typically part of the plant and totally ok. That being said, I also had this same panic when I got my first cactus because they do be having some suspicious looking fuzzies on them, haha.

    the post title 😂😂😂😂

It’s reached puberty. The fuzz is natural. 💕

Toss it!!! Send to me for safe disposal.
