The NSAA six-man football championship game was played Friday night at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium in Kearney. Garden County claimed their first state championship by defeating Southwest 41-22. The game was scoreless after the first quarter, but Garden County would take over in the second quarter outscoring Southwest 33-6 to pull away. Wilsie Lobner ran for over 100 yards and three touchdowns to lead Garden County. Southwest quarterback Houston Billeter threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns but was also intercepted three times.
