Now this, is a tree straight out of the Shire’s Orchard of Wonders. This little beauty is a Jabotacaba, a Brazilian fruit tree that produces its berries right on its bark. The fruit looks like black grapes but they pop with a sweet floral flavour, somewhere between a lychee and a plum. Give them time to ripen and to become soft. I don’t eat the seeds. Ours is over 20 years old and when it’s in season it’s covered head to toe in fruit. We eat them fresh and turn the rest into jam. You can also make wine and even vinegar from them. It’s loved by bees, birds and hobbits alike. Slow-growing, long-lived and full of magic. In a world of fast food and fast living, plant something that takes its time, like the Jabotacaba.

“Plant something that takes its time” – that’s beautiful! Such a short video but what a nugget of gold!
It tastes similar to a grape. It's a little different than a grape but not much. It's skin is thicker. I don't know why people want to give wrong information about what something tastes like.
Had this in Brasil. Tasty, but they told me you had to be careful with the bark as compressing/scraping would prevent fruit growth.
