I built a cold frame out of scrap wood from my parents demolished deck and a handful of polycarbonate panes from greenhouse megastore. Already got two 6 inch snow days in the last few weeks and aim still picking lettuce, kale and mustard. I picked my carrots and giant cabbage a couple weeks ago after the first big snow. This is my first time doing a cold frame and winter gardening and Im a fan. Trying to make that hunger gap practically nothing.

Those carrots look absolutely delicious 😋
Thank you for sharing. I also live in zone 6b and have considered a cold frame. My wife would like to be able to grow chili peppers which would require something like a cold frame and starting them before all the frost/snow is gone.
This is awesome! I just moved and started gardening. (Fastest addiction I’ve ever experienced)
Building a raised garden bed right now. The idea is to add a door that opens upwards but I am considering a detachable piece like this now for winter! Hmmm 🤔
Thanks for the inspiration!
What are those carrots?? They look otherworldly!
Those are carrots though. I’ll pull carrots out of the snow and they’re still good
