Lynda Share was at work when she received the news that a car had crashed into her front garden, after a two-car collision on Cradley Road in Netherton.

Emergency services said two cars collided at the junction with Saltwells Road, near the turning for Golden Hillock Road, this morning (November 19), with one ending up smashing through several walls and fences and coming to rest outside Ms Share’s front window.

“When I heard something had happened, I just couldn’t stop shaking,” she said. “I feel like I can’t go back into my house, even though it’s safe and I can.

“I know I can, but until the cars moved, I don’t think I want to.

“It’s horrible, but it could have been worse.”

Thankfully, all the occupants of the house, including the family dog, who was the only one in at the time, were unharmed.

Ms Share continued: “That’s what I was really worried about, my dog, because he would have heard the bang and he’s frightened of his own shadow.

“It’s just the after effect we’ve got to deal with now, but it could have been much worse – someone could have been killed.”

Her neighbour captured the moment on CCTV when the black Toyota came crashing towards the house, smashing through Ms Share’s other neighbour’s fence as well.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that one man was treated for non-serious injuries at the scene, but did not wish to go to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of Saltwells Road and Cradley Road in Netherton just after 11am and sent an ambulance to the scene.

“On arrival, crews found two cars had been involved in a collision.

“A man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious, but did not wish to go to hospital so was discharged at the scene.”
