RaceTrac to open 600th convenience store in Garden City, Georgia

RaceTrac is opening its 600th convenience store on Thursday in Garden City, Georgia. 

“RaceTrac’s 600th store marks a pivotal milestone in our growth and expansion strategy, and we’re especially proud to celebrate this opening in our home state of Georgia,” said RaceTrac CEO Natalie Morhous. “Garden City’s proximity to the Port of Savannah, thriving logistics industry and vibrant local neighborhoods make it the ideal spot for RaceTrac to serve professional drivers, commuters and residents alike—providing whatever gets them going.” 

Atlanta-based RaceTrac will celebrate the store’s grand opening with festivities at 9:30 a.m. Thursday that include a 600-gallon fuel giveaway to commemorate the 600th location. Beginning at 10 a.m., the first 100 customers will receive a $20 RaceTrac gift card—totaling $2,000, or the cost of about 600 gallons of gas, RaceTrac said. 

The new store is located at 1780 Dean Forest Road, Garden City, Georgia. It adds about 40 new jobs to the community, RaceTrac said. 

RaceTrac is No. 17 on CSP’s 2025 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count.

The store includes a variety of made-in-store food and beverage options, like hand-crafted pizzas, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit cups, a Swirl World frozen yogurt bar and six blends of RaceTrac’s Crazy Good Coffee. 

The new location also offers a variety of competitively priced fuel options, RaceTrac said, and it serves professional drivers and construction vehicles, including lanes of high-flow diesel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) options at the pump. A CAT scale is also available. 

In addition to 600 RaceTrac-branded c-stores, the company also has about 200 RaceWay locations and about 1,200 Gulf-branded locations. It also recently acquired more than 445 Potbelly sandwich shops.
