reporting live from the Arctic Conundra. Oh my goodness, it’s windy and freezing. Hopefully you can hear me, you guys. I know it looks like a beautiful sunny day, which is The sun is out. Oh, look how windy it is. I don’t think Oh my gosh, there’s no way you can hear me. When I woke up this morning, it was 42° and it said felt like 32°. I got to go back in. I’m here in Florida, you guys. Can you believe that? 42 degrees. Well, it was 42 when I woke up around like 700 a.m. and then it said feels like though with the wind chill 32°. Oh my gosh, it does feel like that. You feel the window right here? Yeah, it’s cold. It’s ice cold. Yeah. No, I opened up a few of the windows just to let in some fresh air a little bit earlier. But you guys, I cannot remember the last time that it was this cold in Florida. I don’t know if it’s ever been this cold since we’ve moved here. I just like holding my mic. You know it’s cold outside when iguanas start dropping from the trees. Actually, so if you guys been on our channel for a little while, it was colder than this. Like our first year here. Was it? Yeah, it was. It was the coldest like recorded day in history in Florida. In I’m almost positive that’s the case. And if not, that does sound better. But like I don’t remember that. But I do remember it being so cold that it actually snowed in Destin. That was like a huge thing. Yes, I do remember the snow in Destin. Do you guys remember? And then it was so cold here. There was actually frost on our windows. It was actually really pretty the snow on the beach. It looked very very beautiful. Super super super cool. So what’s funny is Yes. So right now it’s probably about 50° I want to sayish out there. 50-ish or so. But with the wind and probably the humidity, it just feels like I know. Especially with us being like a little bit like higher up like with it being like a corner cuz like we get the cross breeze. I went to take Finn out this morning and he literally lasted. He hurried and peed and then like turned around and wanted to come right back in. Yeah. You didn’t. I think he’s forgotten what the cold feels like. Anyways, you guys, it’s just kind of funny. I know obviously we grew up in the winter. We should be super used to it, but now once you live in a warm place, you forget like how cold it is, which is kind of funny. Freezing cold. Some of you guys are laughing at us right now. But it is it’s feeling a little more like the holiday. We were on a little walk along the beach and people were like bundled up like it looked like they were like getting ready for like a snow day. Oh yeah. You put on scarves. you just like funny thing is it’s supposed to be back up to like the 70s tomorrow and then the 80s swing you know a big swing in temperature and we know that all too well living in Utah because if there’s any state that swings drastically in temperature it’s Utah or Colorado that too. It’s crazy how it can be like sunny one day and then snow the next. Also, I know this is super random, but ever since we’ve been using these new mics, everyone’s been asking which mics we’re using and so this is them. It’s called Ulanzi. You open it up and it shows you how much power is left and actually charges it inside the case as well. Comes with two mics and the receiver. Obviously, I’m using one of them right now, but it’s super slim, compact. It’s definitely one of our favorite finds of this year. Okay, so on the topic of some of our favorite finds, this might be my favorite one so far. And I know I’ve talked about it a lot, so I’ll kind of keep this brief, but this is the Jackary home power station. And this particular model is the Home Power 3600 plus model. So, it’s a basically like a power station on steroids. It’s It’s really cool. So, as you can see right here, I kind of rolled it in, but it has a handle that can go all the way down, so it’s like super flush. It does have handles here on the side, so you can pick it up. It is relatively heavy, so if you lift it up, do lift with your knees. A big deal for us is that it is on wheels, so you can wheel it around with it’s like a little mini suitcase almost. And then you can also lay it flat. So, like storing it, I actually store this under our guest bed and it you can tell it like would almost fit underneath our couch right here. Yeah, it’s relatively like flush. I mean, it’s really easy to move around obviously with those wheels. And the thing that’s really great about this, you can kind of see all this stuff right here. I’m about to, you know, kind of show you. Yeah. What is going on? I’m going to pack this bad boy full. I’m I’m going to try to intentionally overload this, but I know I cannot. So, obviously, you guys, we have this for emergency preparedness, which I absolutely love. We’ve had a few other power stations in the past, but this one by far has kind of blown the other ones out of the water in terms of the power, the size, how like compact and small it is, but then also obviously how much it really can like power things if you are to be without power. Exactly. It is a very big deal. Not only can this power your fridge for up to 14 days for a family of like two to three people, but it can also power like your other big appliances like your dryer, your oven, or like your microwave or a toaster oven. So, babe, I can still cook even without power. That’s right. We got a microwave. We can still cook. As long as the microwave is going, we’re good. We’re set. So, you, as you guys can see here, there are four different ports right here, AC ports. We also have two USBC ports, two USBA ports, and then this is obviously the port to charge like, you know, the big appliances. On the two sides right here, I have an input side and an output side. What I would do is that I would come take my toaster oven right here. Turn on the USBC side and the AC side. Plug this in. So now I’m running my toaster oven. Also, I got my handy dandy blender here. Turn this on. The reason I brought this out. This is not really real world scenario, but maybe it is if in case there’s a flood, I have my water scooters. Heaven forbid the water scooters get charged. But this is a water scooter charger. And this is a big big battery. So for this to charge, it’s going to be using definitely a lot of output right here. Now I’m going to plug in this thing right here. This is a little device for pumping up your tire and your car. I’m going to plug in a USBA port. Plug this into a GoPro. Then take another USB C port. Plug this into my MacBook. You can see it’s charging right there. And I got a lot of stuff here, guys. I’m going to be maxing this thing out. Taking another USB C port. I’m going to plug this into this little guy right here. This is a drone. And then I have one more for a USBA port. And oh, I thought this was a US port. All right. Well, you guys can basically get the idea of it is that this thing right here can power so many devices. Look how many devices it’s powering right now. And the toaster oven is like it’s hot. Yeah, we actually need to turn it off. I’m smelling burning bread crumbs in there. Yeah, we do need to turn it off. So, as you guys can see right here, it has an output wattage that is really cranking right now. It’s obviously starting to drop now that we turned off the toaster oven. But the input So, the input, this is a crazy thing. Not only can you charge this like just regularly like with its own plug, but it also has solar panels. And I talked about this in our last video, but you can set up solar panels all along and can charge this whole thing, which is really Isn’t that incredible? And they’re waterproof. Cool. Yes. So, think of like we did lose power from a hurricane. Obviously, we live here in Florida. That’s like our biggest thing is hurricanes and losing power. We would be able to charge solar panels and then charge this. or if we like needed to get in the car and leave, bring your solar panels and bring this thing and like we’re good to go, you know. I’ve looked it up. I could actually charge our car. Now, granted, we wouldn’t get too much, but I could get 3 miles out of this even with the power loss conversion. Wow. Yeah, that is a big deal. So, when it comes to hurricanes, I feel like we are pretty darn set, you know, like we have like our emergency preparedness kit. We also have like our like our meals and stuff, but like power, that is one thing we’ve always needed. something like this is an investment that we’re going to have for a very long time. But I do know especially around the holidays and stuff if you are looking for you know practical gifts that obviously it doesn’t even have to be like uh you know hurricane obviously like you know living in Utah it was like earthquakes were a thing you know tornadoes whatever even if you’re like into the if you have someone that’s into outdoors and like camping all of that like or if you’re like a big time like gamer or developer something like that like you can have everything running through here. So just in case there is a power outage this automatically switches over in 0.01 01 seconds. Yeah, it is really fast. Anyways, I know with the holiday season coming up, maybe you’re looking for something for your family and to invest in and obviously this will last a long time. So, we wanted to talk about it again. Yeah. Or if you’re big into like RV life, camping, you know, that sort of thing. Van life. Huh. Oh, yeah. Still hasn’t given up on that dream. But it also works in extreme cold weather as well as really hot weather. And so, it’s really perfect for like any scenario. He doesn’t see it. Oh, he does. An iguana. That is so funny. He missed it. Oh, there’s two of them. Go let him. There’s one on that tree. He smells it. Oh, there it is. That’s a little too late, Britney. There’s one right here. Where? Directly behind this tree. Oh, he’s going to get it. Get it, Finn. Up, up, up, up. Good boy, dude. Good boy. You see it, dude? So, just a little bit ago, I officially booked our flights for Thanksgiving. So excited about it, guys. Big deal. We’re so excited. So, we want you. We’re still figuring out if we’re bringing Finn or not. Yeah. He may stay back with one of our neighbors or if that doesn’t work out we may bring him with us which will be it would be a lot of fun with but all at the same time kind of figuring that out. I mean you guys know bringing a dog with you can be a little bit tricky. A little bit tricky especially where we’re going as well. We’re going to bring him with us for Christmas for sure. 100%. Yes, he’ll be coming with us for Christmas. But you guys let us know what are your Thanksgiving plans down below. Where are you spending? Oh, there’s so many birds around. There’s a bird. Oh my gosh. It’s like you feel like you’re just kind of like in a mangrove. Ooh, we actually just got a mangrove with a little breeze. I know it’s a little chilly. Look at this guy. He’s brave. He’s out taking on the water today. Bundled up. Little kayaker right there. Curious you guys. Do you like cooking Thanksgiving dinner or do you like going out for Thanksgiving? Ooh, I’m I like I love cooking, but also sometimes it’s nice to go out. Remember last year though, it was kind of Do you remember last year’s Thanksgiving, babe? It was like kind of a very unique Thanksgiving cuz we were supposed to spend it with Nate, Michelle, they were out here. Then Nate’s grandpa passed away unexpectedly. So, it was just Jared and I and then we watched cute little Meline, our niece, cuz they didn’t take her. Y and that was like a very But we went out to a buffet here and we thought it was going to be this amazing like Thanksgiving Day buffet. That’s what it was like marketed as and it was not great. It was Yeah, it was. So, in case you guys were wondering, it was at the Pelican Grand Hotel. Yes. Would not recommend it. It was not great. It cost a lot and it was not good. Yeah, it wasn’t great. So, but there is something like especially when you’re with lots of family like and everyone’s cooking together like I love that. That is cool. I love love love that. That’s when you’re cooking you, it’s so much prep work, so much time, and the actual dinner portion is like that and then it’s quick. Yeah. But then if you went somewhere else, it’s kind of like a little bit more of the opposite. You eat, you take time to eat appetizers or order, you have dessert, and so it’s kind of like one 2-hour long sitting. I feel like there’s pros and cons, but if I’m going to be around family and everything, I think it’s really fun to all cook together, make like dishes that remind you of traditions and everything like that. Like I still remember it was a core thing for my family growing up. We’d always go to my grandma on my dad’s side for Thanksgiving with our huge extended family. I remember all the like side dishes certain aunts would bring and then like all we do a talent show every year and all the cousins would do like it got so big we rented not rented out but we went to like a church and that’s where we would eat and like do I don’t know all the talent show and everything. It was really really fun. That’s actually exactly how it was for me growing up. We would always go to like a church and it would be packed with like extended family and our family and like on my mom’s side of the family like they all act a lot like my mom, you know, and so it was just like we just had like a ton a ton of fun and we’re just constantly like, you know, doing stuff and like the talent shows were always just hilarious and we’d have like pie eating contests and you know my my aunt she’d always make these super delicious pies and she bring them. Aunt Sandy. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Auntie is her name. And anyways, it was just like so so so much fun. And we haven’t done anything like that in a couple years. It was actually I think two years ago. Yeah. Two or three years ago. Do you remember when we were in Utah and we brought you guys along to Jared’s big family extended Thanksgiving and Connor, his cousin was there. It was so funny. Oh my gosh. We made that giant shuderie board and everything. That was a special Thanksgiving. Yeah, that was very, very special. You know, obviously looking back cuz I was like the last one with J, my brother. But also, it was just kind of like I think that was like the last time we all kind of like got together as a big extended family. It was so crazy because it’s like you see these guys like your your family members, but you haven’t seen them for a few years and they have like their kids are all growing up. This is kind of like whoa. It’s crazy how time flies. But I feel like now with social media like yeah, you can kind you’re kind of keeping tabs nowadays so it’s not like as crazy. But anyways, you guys, those are such fun like family traditions and everything. And so, yes, let us know what you guys do down below for Thanksgiving. That’s when you know you had fun. He’s so happy. Oh my gosh, I love him. Also, I have been trying to do some meal prepping. We’ve been doing pretty good with it. I’m doing like big batches of things like I’ll cook a ton of sweet potatoes, a ton of potatoes and chicken, ground beef, and ground turkey as well. Yep. But uh I’m also going to be making like a big protein pasta chicken salad, I think, tonight. Yep. Sorry, it’s probably windy. If you can hear me, I’m going to roll that up.
