A gardener has been charged with manslaughter after an 86-year-old woman he allegedly assaulted at her home died in hospital.
Police allege Jason Easson, who was employed as the woman’s gardener, entered her home on Derwent St in Glebe at about 8.30am on October 31.
The 53-year-old allegedly assaulted the woman before leaving her home.
She was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.

Police were told on November 6 that the woman had died in hospital.

Mr Easson had been arrested in Marrickville days earlier and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
Police have since charged him with manslaughter.
The 53-year-old is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on January 20.
