Police are carrying out “specialist tests” to determine the age of human bones found in the garden of a home in North Lincolnshire.
Humberside Police said the remains had been uncovered during building work at the property on Clouds Lane, Beltoft, near Crowle, on 10 November.
The force said while the investigation was in its infancy, there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances.
A scene guard remains in place and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Det Insp Steve Antrobus said: “Throughout the week many of our teams including patrol, neighbourhood police and specialist forensic officers have conducted extensive lines of enquiry that have led to the identification of the bones as human.
“Whilst thorough and specialist tests to determine the age of the bones are yet to be completed, at this time there doesn’t appear to be any suggestion that there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery.”
