On October 25th, 83-year-old Lionel Covington—an active, vibrant Cairns local—passed away after contracting Legionella from a simple bag of potting mix. What happened to him unfolded in just a matter of days.
“It wasn’t like he did thirty-two bags, he did two. He wore gloves but he didn’t put a mask on”.
It’s a tragic tale and one that his daughter, Rebekah wants to share in the hope that other gardeners take heed.
