It’s an 18x18x36 for my chahoua gecko when it gets big enough. But, I’m really not happy with most of the plants up top. The lipstick plant in the top left is fine, I like it, but I hate how my pothos and tradescantia look (mostly because they’re lanky). Like title says, should I swap some out, or give it more time?

yes, those are all large-leafed vining plants. if you don’t like that they look “lanky” you should replace them with smaller-leaved plants for a more dense look.

Try filling in more space with plants you’re confident you like, and see how it looks. You’d be surprised how nice the dense terrarium looks

You can just switch places with with the epiphytic bird nest fern down on the bottom. Let the tradescantia trail on the bottom and the pothos climb upwards by draping it that way,

Try planting the vining plants at the bottom so the vines can grow and climb up towards the light. Look up pothos vines that have been staked to get an idea of how they look. The leaves actually get bigger the taller they grow. I think they get lanky when the vines are hanging down because they’re away from the light. If you want a plant that has a cascading effect look into spider plants. I know they’re basic but are easy and the first thing I thought of.

If you let pothos grow from the bottom up with a good plant light you can get leaves the size of your hand. Also every time you snip the end of one of its vines it’ll force a new vine to grow which can quickly become dense.
