Overwintering or …?

I have gifted my Mandevilla to a neighbor with a big sunny window. They’ll both be happy.

Now, as to the rest of my garden…
Going to try overwintering a few.
Should I …
1) take cuttings?
2) and/or let them go dormant? (Cool hallway maybe? Cut back? Cover? Water just a bit?)
3) try to just enjoy them as they die a slow death in my not so sunny window? 😬

Have:
– two large foxtail ferns (divided from one giant plant; took a whole year to recover)
– two geraniums
– one giant nasturtium that really took off late summer.

Thanks. Not getting grow lights as we live in a small loft.
