This has been slowly making its way through each of my many indoor plants for about 4 months now. Every single plant has at least one yellow leaf which eventually browns, shrivels up and dies. Then another leaf will experience the same thing. I water my plants once a week, they get plenty of shaded light, and it’s happening to plants I’ve had for 4+ years, as well as ones I’ve only had for a few months. What the hell is going on? The only thing I can think of is the water in my house… but honestly it is PMO now

My anthurium leaves do when they touch dirt or another plant. …I’m here watching for the answer.

Actually I see thrips on your monstera.

    Thrips!

Time for an insecticidal soap bath 😅 Treatment once or twice a week for 4 weeks to catch the life cycle.
If you’re in the US, you’ve also got the option of using a systemic pesticide like Bonide, that really helps knock them out for good, but PLEASE DO NOT DO SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO PUT THE PLANT OUTSIDE.

I am preferential to insecticidal soap and safers END ALL up here in the North. Give the plant a good rinse before each treatment, and wipe down any nearby plants or surfaces since thrips love to spread. Leaves stems and all.

If you prefer a gentler approach, you can rotate between insecticidal soap, neem oil, and a light horticultural oil. Consistency is key with these little guys.

Thrips in the last pic. The first 2 are likely overwatering and NOT a biotic/living issue. See it often in my plant diagnostic clinic.
